4 Introduction This training module is based on the Department of Building and Housing (DBH) Compliance Document F3 Hazardous Substances and Processes Second Edition, effective 22 March The New Zealand Building Code clause F3 was first published in July A compliance document is for use in establishing compliance with the New Zealand Building Code. There are also other methods of compliance which are detailed in the New Zealand Building Code Handbook. 5 NZ Building Code Clause F3 Hazardous Substances and Processes Second Edition All Compliance Documents commence with a copy of the relevant NZ Building Code clause. Activity 1 Review the NZBC clause for F3 [page 3 of the Document] Q.1 What is the objective of clause F3? ANSWER OBJECTIVE F3.1 The objective of this provision is to safeguard people from injury or illness, and other property from damage, caused by hazardous substances or processes in buildings.
