5 2018 Environmental Performance Report Environmental Message Hello, my name is Jun Yamakawa, the Managing Director of Srixon Sports Manufacturing (Thailand) Co., Ltd. SSMT is a tennis ball manufacturer. We always keep in mind that our production process must take into account the nature and society. To produce tennis balls, a lot of natural rubber, wool, and cotton cloth is used. Our production cannot run without this gifts from nature. Our products are very suitable for use. As a human being and a company among the abundant nature, we are committed to preserving the richness of nature in parallel with achieving our intended goals/targets. Managing Director: Jun Yamakawa We recognize that a global environment problem is a very important problem, and we push forward energy saving activity to achieve the environmental aim of the Sumitomo rubber group. In addition, we go the tree planting activity continuously in a neighborhood that we do this earth wealthily Green and few leave much nature for future children. A lot of local inhabitants have you participate and carry it out as well as an employee for tree planting activity. The number of the tree planting increases year by year, too. 6 Environmental Performance Report Environmental Message In our daily work, we are aware of the importance of environment and always committed to preserve it. This is to keep the environment clean and beautiful, as the natural heritage for our children. General Manager: Don Phrapipek Environment is something everyone must be accountable for. We all must help to prevent pollution, find the ways to reduce the environmental impact arising from our production process, reduce the energy consumption, reduce the pollution emitted and waste released to the environment, with our constant efforts. Due to people want more comfort and convenience in daily living, the natural resources are used to fulfill such needs without concern about the depletion and degradation of natural resources and environment. This is the direct consequence of human actions taken to fulfill the basic human needs, comfort and any convenience. The more human population means the more natural resources destroyed and depleted. This directly affect our living as well as the quality of life. Everyone must stop hurting the environment, change the living style, and in the meantime realize the value of the environment seriously. If everyone is aware of adverse consequences caused by wasteful use of natural resources, the environmental problems will be minimized and solved seriously. Environmental problem has caused many loss and damages that affect the human beings and all living creatures. One of the causes of environmental problems is energy consumption. To reduce energy consumption, SSMT has set up energy conservation projects covering all aspects. This is to protect and preserve the environment and resources for next generations. Creating the safety, convenience, and comfort in workplace All personnel must follow the rules & regulations applied to protect oneself and colleagues. Enhance the safety awareness of all employee. Make the workplace safe and comfort. As the safety awareness is very important, it should be focused firstly. Enhance the relationship and mutual trust through effective communication. Set the target of making good works by a good team. 2. Deliver products by thinking about the customer's perspective Adhere to the principle of Genba (Actual Place) and Genbutsu (Actual Things), and manufacturing the highly satisfactory products. Rapidly respond to every change. Deliver less variable product to the global market. Meet the customer expectation. 3. In serve these objectives, our company has undertaken to implement the following: 1. Timely delivery to meet customer s satisfaction. 2. Reduction and prevention of potential risks of accidents that may happen to the company and its employee. 3. Strictly comply with regulations and legal requirements relating to environment, occupational health and safety issues. 4. Place important emphasis on all resources by reducing the energy consumption and implement the policies of recycling used materials/resources. 5. Prevention of dispersion of pollution and hazardous waste through proper storage, usage, and disposition. 6. 10 Environmental Performance Report Energy Consumption during In 2017, the energy consumption decreased by 4,715,376 megajoule (MJ). Although the production capacity has been adjusted downward from 2016, the ratio of energy consumption per output unit has decreased from MJ/dozen in 2016, downward to MJ/dozen in The energy consumption per dozen decreased by 4.58 %. MJ/dozen Year 2016 Year 2017 Collaboration between the management and employees contributes to various energy conservation projects, including electrical energy conservation, thermal energy conservation, and environmental protection and preservation. By 2017, there are four projects of energy conservation and environmental projects.

11 2018 Environmental Performance Report Guidelines for reducing the Electrical Energy consumption From the concept of Reducing the unnecessary loss", the energy saving activities have been created as follows: 1.) Project of Air Leakage Reduction within the production area. Energy Conservation Working Team in the Technical Department has surveyed the air leak problem in the production line, pipes and joints during break time that the machine stopped running. Where the air leak point is detected, it will be identified with label/tag. Then the repairing/maintenance plan has been developed for each point of air leaks. This helps us save the cost of electricity consumption for 513, baht per year. 2.) Changing the outdoor light fixture from high pressure mercury vapour lamp to LED lamp. To save electricity in the night lighting system, high pressure mercury vapour lamps were replaced with LED lamps. This helps us save the cost of electricity consumption for 102,597 baht per year. 9 Before After

12 Environmental Performance Report Guidelines for reducing the Electrical Energy consumption 3.) Installation of VSD on Cooling Tower Installed the Variable Speed Drives (VSD) on the water pump that suited the operating pressure of the machine. The frequency of electrical system was adjusted down. To control the frequency and speed of water pump, VSD is adjusted. This helps us save 56, baht per year.

13 2018 Environmental Performance Report 11 Guidelines for reducing the thermal energy consumption 4.) Project of Steam Pipe Insulation at Balls Steaming Machine for reducing heat loss "Steam" is the thermal energy that requires fuel oil. To reduce and save the consumption of fuel oil that is nonrenewable energy, The Energy Conservation Working Team has determined the measure to expand the project of steam pipe insulation at the balls steaming machine. The result gained is not only reduced thermal energy consumption, but it also makes the work environment even better due to less heat released from steam pipe. Reducing Non-Standard Balls From the concept of "Customers must get the very best" and commitment to reducing waste from production, the corrective measures are established, for instance the measure to correct/improve waste or NG product of flat balls. Air filling system is improved for better stability. This measure helps us reduce waste or NG by 70%. 17 2018 Environmental Performance Report Energy Conservation in the Employee Perspective Compared with the year we have launched the energy conservation project, we can see that it is a good project that helps in reducing the company s costs, turning off water, turning off lights during break time, including raising and enhancing the employees awareness. I have a suggestions on electricity and lighting consumption that is zoning of lighting. If the lighting can be controlled (turning on or off) by each section, we can save electricity more. 15 It is a project that helps us solve a problem in the factory effectively, for instance, correcting air leak problem, and turning off lights during break time. It also helps in reducing the company s costs. Regularly there have been public relations to create and enhance the employee s awareness. This improve the organization s image in aspect of energy and environmental conservation.
