If you are expanding from singlephase to three-phase, we need to know as soon as planning starts. In particular, if you are installing a new corn dryer, we need to know for both electric and natural gas service (if you are a natural gas customer). Please notify us before you make a purchase. 3 4 Livestock Livestock high-efficiency ventilation system How to apply and qualify for rebates For existing buildings Fill out and return the rebate form(s) and a copy of your sales receipt or itemized invoice by January 31, 2017 for your selected product or service. For new construction buildings Option 1 Obtain the rebate from online at alliantenergy.com/rebates. Invoice is required. You may call ALLIANT from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday - Friday to have forms mailed to you. Option 2 Invoice not required if Alliant Energy ag representative verifies equipment eligibility during site visit. Fan-motor combination inch fan with 10.1 cfm per watt or higher inch fan with 13.5 cfm per watt or higher inch fan with 17.4 cfm per watt or higher 48+ inch or larger fan with 20.3 cfm per watt or higher If you install a thermostat or programmable controller on a new and existing fan, you ll receive a $20 rebate for each fan. Fan-motor combinations must meet these additional specifications: Tested by either the: - Air Movement and Control Association (AMCA). - Bioenvironmental and Structural Systems (BESS) Lab at the University of Illinois. Call Alliant Energy at ALLIANT for qualifying models. Fan motors must be wired for 208-volt or 240-volt service. Fan motors must be tested at 0.05 static pressure. Livestock high-volume, low-speed fan (HVLS) HVLS fans are an energy-efficient alternative to high-speed box fans. They are traditionally used for ventilating livestock barns. The higher the cfm/watt, the more efficient the fan is at providing a volume of air to the space. Heat reclaimer/refrigerant heat recovery unit The rebate is based on the amount of hot water you use. It is calculated by simply knowing how many cows you are currently milking. To calculate the rebate, multiply the number of cows by $5. Heat reclaimer... $5 per cow* Note: Alliant Energy must provide the fuel to the primary water heater. Livestock waterer Adjustable thermostats are required only on waterers with a heating element greater than 250 watt. Livestock waterer... $40 per unit All livestock waterers must have both: Two inches or more of insulation completely surrounding the inside of the waterer Electric heating element (non-electric waterers do not qualify) * Dry cows are not eligible. 6) Rebate amount is limited to 50% of equipment purchase price.

6 7 Milk precooler Rebates are based on the average number of cows you are currently milking. To calculate the rebate, multiply the number of cows by $3.40. Milk precooler... $3.40 per cow* Dairy scroll compressor By replacing an old, inefficient compressor with a new energy-efficient scroll compressor, you could save up to 30% on your milk cooling bill. Dairy scroll compressor... $250 per unit Note: Must replace reciprocating compressor. Variable speed drive (VSD) controller for vacuum pump The rebate is for the VSD controller only, not for the vacuum pump. In order to qualify for a rebate, the vacuum pump must be controlled by a UL-listed device that meets applicable lnstitute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (leee) standards for harmonic control. Recommended for blower-style vacuum pumps. Not recommended for rotary vane style vacuum pumps. The rebate is based on how many cows you are milking. To calculate the rebate, multiply the number of cows by $5. VSD controller for vacuum pump... $5 per cow* Variable speed drive controller on milk transfer pump may qualify for Custom Rebates and require pre-approval. 7 8 Lighting Agriculture lighting Do you have T12 lighting? The simplest way to tell if you have T12 lighting in your facility is to look at the end of a fluorescent tube. If it s 1.5 inch in diameter, it is likely an inefficient T12 lamp. To qualify for lighting rebates, lighting fixtures and controls in livestock barns, milk houses and parlors must meet Iowa Electric Code. They must be sealed (dust-tight and watertight) and corrosion resistant. Fixtures must be UL-listed and must be permanently wired. Must supply brand and model number. Maximum rebate 50% of equipment purchase price. All LED bulbs and fixtures must be ENERGY STAR or DesignLights Consortium (DLC) qualified. Fluorescent light bulbs must be disposed of properly. 9 10 Motors Motor management Create an action plan for when motor failure strikes. Have an energy-efficient model in mind and take advantage of the following benefits: Lower energy cost Enhanced operational efficiency Lower maintenance costs Less unscheduled downtime Rebates from Alliant Energy Variable frequency drive A variable frequency drive (VFD) controls the power being supplied to the motor and when implemented can reduce the unit s operating costs and improve overall efficiency. In order to qualify for a rebate, the vacuum pump must be controlled by a UL-listed device that meets applicable lnstitute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (leee) standards for harmonic control. Motor systems that could benefit from a VFD include: Motors performing mechanical throttling Motor systems with high load variability Centrifugal fan, pump or blower systems Variable frequency drive rebate = $35 x motor horsepower (hp) Note: VFD rebate applicable for horsepower greater than five and less than 200.

12 13 Grain dryer Grain New grain dryers use less energy and qualify for rebates from Alliant Energy. The five levels of rebates are based on manufacturer dry bushels per hour capacity at five points moisture removal. 1. Less than 500 bushels per hour...$ ,000 bushels per hour...$1, ,001-2,000 bushels per hour...$2, ,001-3,500 bushels per hour...$5, ,501-5,000 bushels per hour...$8,500 Natural gas grain dryers and grain dryers with capacity larger than 5,000 bushels per hour qualify for Custom Rebates (page 15) and must be pre-approved. Low-pressure irrigation system The low-pressure system must operate on 50% or less pressure of the existing irrigation system. Rebates available for replacement systems only. Dealer must include old and new pounds per square inch (PSI) on the rebate form. Low-pressure irrigation system... $20 per acre Example: 20 acres x $20 per acre = $400 rebate Note: Alliant Energy must supply the primary fuel source. Grain bin aeration fan controls Grain bin aeration fan controls take the guesswork out of storing grain. They monitor grain temperature, ambient air and humidity. This typically lowers your electric costs by 50%-75% while maintaining optimal moister levels and grain quality. Rebate amount based upon bin eave height and diameter.

If you re investing in new equipment or building a new facility, contact Alliant Energy while you re in the planning stages. Some examples of equipment that qualifies for Custom Rebates include: Large energy-efficient grain dryers Heat lamp setbacks Agri-process equipment improvements Energy-efficient construction practices Large aeration fan control systems High-wattage LED lighting with controls Your project must be pre-approved by Alliant Energy prior to equipment purchase or new construction start date. 19 20 Additional resources Disposing of burned-out CFLs Since CFLs contain mercury (equivalent to the size of the tip of a ball point pen), it is important to follow these safety steps: Visit earth911.org or call EARTH911 to find your local disposal options. You can also contact your local solid waste agency for recycling options. If there are no other options, place the CFL in a sealed plastic bag before putting it in your trash. Never send a CFL to an incinerator. Disposing of broken CFLs According to guidelines established by the Environmental Protection Agency, you can safely clean up the spill yourself if the mercury spill is less than one to two tablespoons and limited to a small area. The small amount of mercury in a CFL is not likely to cause health problems, but it should still be cleaned up immediately. Visit epa.gov/cfl for detailed clean up instructions.

20 21 Terms and conditions IMPORTANT: Please read the following information before completing the rebate claim form. 1. Participants must be an Iowa customer of Alliant Energy. 2. Alliant Energy must supply the primary energy to the equipment for which the rebate is being paid. Some exceptions may apply. 3. Rebate amount will not exceed 50% of equipment purchase price, excluding insulation and sealing. 4. Equipment must be new and installed on the premises and must not be purchased for resale. Refurbished equipment is not eligible. Some exceptions may apply. 5. Alliant Energy reserves the right to inspect and verify the installation. 6. Alliant Energy reserves the right to meter the specified equipment or process, at no cost to the customer, to determine the actual energy saved for up to 18 months after installation. 7. Rebates apply to new and replacement installations of qualified equipment. In replacement situations, the efficiency of the equipment installed must be higher than that of the equipment removed. 8. Customers are responsible for ensuring the equipment installed for this program meets all applicable codes, standards and regulatory requirements. 9. Alliant Energy does not guarantee that installation of high-efficiency equipment will result in reduced usage or demand, or in cost savings. 10. Alliant Energy makes no warranties, expressed or implied, with respect to any equipment purchased and/or installed including, but not limited to, any warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. 11. In no event shall Alliant Energy be liable for any incidental or consequential damages. 12. Alliant Energy does not endorse any particular manufacturer, product or system design in promoting this rebate program.
