4 Power, Motion, Control Our products and solutions from a technical perspective PMC Windsyn has the right technology for all operational conditions from low to high temperatures, as well as on/offshore environments. Hydraulic solutions There are many benefits to be gained by selecting hydraulic solutions. When choosing a hydraulic power unit in a wind turbine to provide power for pitch control, other functions like yaw, drive or brake systems can be integrated, reducing the total number of systems required, and thus reducing the overall costs. Power units for pitch, yaw and brake can be delivered as independent subsystems for single purpose use if, for example, it is more beneficial to the overall design. Oil cooler and heating elements can be integrated in the power unit when the wind turbine is working in a high/low temperature environment. Furthermore, hydraulic solutions are characterised by a low weight-to-power ratio. Lubrication and cooling PMC Windsyn has developed complete, reliable and safe systems for wind turbines based on our experience with lubrication and cooling systems. In order to comply with the demand for high turbine availability and long service intervals in the wind energy sector, we supply a combination of high quality components and knowhow which ensures best in class lubrication and cooling performance. Quality control and quality assurance are thus PMC Windsyn s top priorities which is why we have worked with Six Sigma since Six Sigma is an internationally recognised quality and management philosophy focusing on identifying and removing the causes of defects (errors) and minimising variations in manufacturing and business processes. Based on our customers requirements as well as actual data, all causes of defects are analysed and eliminated. This creates high quality as well as improved efficiency to the benefit of both customers and PMC Windsyn. From the Six Sigma tool box we often use the data driven DMAIC model, which can both streamline processes and solve complex production issues.
