PROGRAM INFORMATION: Each prgram is tw hurs, (10am-12pm r 12:30 2:30 pm) Any tw prgrams can be cmbined t make up a full day (10 am 2:30pm) Prgram times can be adapted t suit yur transprtatin schedule Class Size: Maximum f 30 students Cst is $275 ( plus HST) per class fr a half day, tw hur prgram at the Dundas Valley Cnservatin area A $50 nn-refundable depsit (payable by credit card) is required at the time f bking. Bus & park entry fees fr Dundas Valley prgrams are included with the prgram csts $5 fr each additinal student ver the maximum f 30 students per class PROGRAM LOCATION: Dundas Valley Cnservatin Area, 650 Gvernrs Rad, Dundas, Ontari EXTREME WEATHER: During weather extremes, where pssible, prgrams will be mdified and a greater prtin f the prgrams will be cnducted indrs. Students will cllect Benthic Macr invertebrates (BMI s) frm a shallw stream t determine stream quality. Identify key BMI s that may indicate varius pllutin levels f a stream. Students will use a dichtmus key t identify species and gain an understanding f aquatic indicatr species. Allw a minimum f 2 hurs. Full r Half Day Hike ptins available. Dundas Valley Hike: This hike fllws the Bruce Trail as it winds thrugh the Dundas Valley Cnservatin Area. Alng the way the Bruce Trail passes thrugh stream valleys, shady deciduus frests, ld apple rchards, as it meanders abve and belw the Niagara Escarpment. OUTDOOR ACTIVE: Get Oriented!! An Intrductin t Orienteering Students are intrduced t the basics f rienteering, including; parts f a cmpass, use f a cmpass t find directin, and map reading. Skills will be a put t the test as students use a map and cmpass t navigate their way thrugh a designated area. Snwshe Trek Learn the basics f snwsheing. Find ut which style f snwshe yu prefer - Traditinal r Hi -Tech. Challenge yurself as we explre the great utdrs WIDE GAMES: These games make use f large frest and field areas, encuraging students t wrk tgether c-peratively & strategize. Chse frm ne f the fllwing activities: Capture the Flag The gal is fr each team t seek ut and capture the flag f the ther team while keeping their wn flag safe. Alpha Wlf The Alpha is the lead animal in any pack. Teams attempt t lcate the Alpha in rder t imprve their clan s strength. An adaptatin f this game is t avid capture f the Alpha and keep yur wn clan safe Survival f the Fittest A predatr/prey rle playing game. The bjective - t survive! The challenge t avid predatrs, and ther dangers in rder t survive. The search is n fr the basic necessities f life!
