2 ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT PLAN FOR DALPATPUR STONE QUARRY AT VILLAGE DALPUTPUR TEHSIL KHURAI AND DISTRICT SAGAR [MP], AREA (0.920ha) 1.1 Introduction The subject quarry is proposed for metal stone on ha for 5380 Cubic meter per year at village- Dalputpur, Tehsil- Khurai Dist. Sagar (MP). The Metal Stone quarry lease has been sanctioned by State Government through Mining officer. The lessee is Shri Manish Singhi having office at Shivaji Ward, Khurai, Dist- Sagar- M.P. The lessee is private individual. The quarry area has been sanction for 10 years. The mining activity has been running with valid consent to operate and environmental clearance has been required as per NGT order. 1.2 Brief Description of nature, size, location of the project District/state Tehsil Village Khasra No. Area in Ha Sagar, MP Khurai Dalpatpur Hac. Ownership/ Occupancy Pvt. waste Land The lease area is located at distance about 57 km in North - West of Sagar District headquarter. The approachability is on Pathari-Khurai road. The highest elevation of this area is 424 m above sea level. The QL area is approachable in all season and the connectctivity is by means of buses, Matador, Taxi etc. Topography Topographically the section area is a part of hill having elevation 424 m. the slope of the QL area is North side. The drainage of the area is North West direction. West part is connecting by road which running in EW direction. The area comes under Draccan Trap plateau. 1.3 Mining method Proposed mining activity has been carried out by the open cast semimechanized method of mining using hand tools such as spades, chisel, hammer and pockland and JCB machines etc. Boulder to pebble of basalt & waste in the form of weathered basaltic formation as fines will also be used in backfilling hence it is considered under production and this will be transported from pit bottom to surface by manually or mechanical way by using the Hydra or pockland machines and whenever the major basaltic boulder will come then use of explosive is being suggested. From the loading point of view, basalt is transported by truck/dumper to the users. Following machines are proposed to use as on hire basis:

3 Details of machinery: The following machineries will be continued to deploy for further proposal for the Basalt (Metal stone) quarrying, are as follows: *Excavator Machine (pock land & JCB):100: One each Dumper: - 8 Chisel, hammer tasla, rods: Sufficient quantity Yearly production of Metal stone 5380M 3 per year Separate benches will be made in lateritic soil and production bench in Basalt (Metal stone). Proposed production will be 100 % (95% metal stone + 5% weathered material will be crushed to different sizes in the crusher. Upper capping of weathered formation will be removed by using excavator with tipper combination will be dumped as per schedule. During the development and production phase the proper shape of pit will be developed. BLASTING Opencast semi mechanized method will be adopted. Hand tools such as crowbar, spades, chisel and hammer will be used along with blasting parameter for proposed mining. At places the massive basaltic formation may occur then blasting may require to remove the boulder the proposal of blasting as follows: a) BROAD BLASTING & DRILLING PARAMETERS: Broad blasting parameters are given below. Burden: 1.0 m. Spacing: 1.20 m. Depth of drill hole: 1.65 m (10% sub grade drilling for removal of toe) Diameter of blast holes: mm No. of holes in a row : 10 Nos. Quantity of explosive/hole: 750 gm. Depth of drill hole is proposed 1.5 m. and height of bench is proposed 1-2m. Therefore blasting will be carried out in four to stages. Drilling parameters are as follows Type Make No. Tractor mounted compressor & jack hammer ATLAS COPCO Dia of hole Drilling rods Capacity Motive power 1 32MM CFM Diesel 50 Hp 1.4 Environmental Setting of the project S. Following air pollution control measures have been taken to minimize negative impact due to mining activity: Water sprinkling on haul road has been carried out at frequent intervals during the movement of dumpers and same will be continuing in future also. Plantation along the quarry boundary will be carried out to reduce the spread of dust, Water has been sprayed over the muck pile to reduced the dust generation and same will be continuing in future also Dust mask has been provided to all workers. Regular maintenance of vehicles has been carried out in order to control emissions and same will be continuing in future also; Water Environment Following control measures will be taken to minimize negative impact due to mining activity: Proposal of garland drain around the excavated pit with the progress of mining, creation of water body will take place and accumulated water of the same will be used for dust suppression and green belt development.

5 Drain along the periphery, around the quarry pit will be required together and connected to proposed water body Water Consumption (Avg.) The waste material comprises of soil, overburden and physical rejects during the sizing of basalt. Mine waste will be use in road maintenance, village road repairing, pit ramp development and generated soil will be use for plantation Noise Environment Drilling and movement of truck/ dumper, etc will create the transitional noise level. However noise generated by these will be occurring at low level and will be within the prescribed upper limit. Following control measures will be taken to minimize negative impact due to mining activity Ear muffs or ear plug will be provided for workers Noise barriers, silencers and enclosures shall be incorporated for equipments, which emit high noise levels. Unnecessary use of horns by the drivers of the vehicles shall be avoided. Maintenance of Jack Hammer. Delay detonators and detonating fuses will be used to reduce noise. Vibration screen will be covered.
