(10) ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT PLAN The mitigation measures for reducing the adverse environmental impacts together constitute a part of EMP. The environmental issues, which need management, plan for the construction and operation phases are summarized below: Description Control arrangement / Mitigative measures During Construction Water and wastewater Soil Municipal solid / hazardous waste Water requirement during the construction phase will be met through local water tanker suppliers/ AMC. Water demand will be reduced by use of curing agents, super plasticizers and other best construction practices. Domestic wastewater (sewage) will be disposed-off through septic tank/soak pit system. Top soil will be stored onsite and used for development of greenbelt. Excavated Earth will be used for re-filling of foundation & plinth, green belt and levelling low lying areas at project site itself, excess (if any) will be sent to another site where need may be exist. Construction and demolition materials (if any) will be used for levelling low lying areas. Construction debris will be used for levelling, roads; pavements etc. and excess if any will be send our other site or sold to organization using the same for landfill purposes. All municipal solid waste will be properly stored on site before it is collected by municipality (AMC) for its ultimate disposal to their landfill site. Used oil and used drums, bags/liners, if any will be sold to authorized recyclers.

Air and noise Safety Tarpaulin sheet covers will be used on the materials to avoid dusting during transportation, storage and handling. Loose materials will be covered to avoid the fugitive emission. Peripheral barricading will be done to prevent dust emission spreading outside the project premises. Uniform piling of sand and proper storage to avoid dusting. Regular water sprinkling will be done to mitigate fugitive dust emissions. The vehicles having PUCs and spark arrestors will only allowed for the transportation. To reduce the noise generation during the transportation activities; the vehicle will be kept periodically serviced and maintained as per the requirement of latest trend in automobile industry. Fume generation due to welding and allied activities will be negligible and restricted to project site. All the vibrating parts will be checked periodically and serviced to reduce the noise generation and the sound producing equipments will be enclosed in the sound proofing enclosure. Sources of high noise level such as D.G. set etc. will be provided adequate sound enclosures. Personal protective equipments like earplugs, dust masks, nose masks safety shoes, helmets, hand gloves, etc. will be provided to all workers. All workers will be trained to use welding shields and follow safer practice. Commit to make provision related to first aid and training to be provided to the construction workers. Maintaining hoists and lifts, lifting machines, chains, ropes, and other lifting tackles in good condition. H frame scaffolds & ladders made of mild steel will be used. Completely Concealed Copper Wiring. All electrical fittings / equipments used will meet the relevant IS standards. Structural design of the project considering the seismic zone norms for earthquake resistant structures. First Aid Box will be made readily available in adequate quantity at all the times. Commit to register the project under The Building & Other Construction Workers (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 1996.

Others Maximum use of Ready Mix Concrete (RMC), fly ash paver blocks for pavements/walkways, most of the carpentry structures will be made up of processed engineering wood instead of wood, maximum use of Portland Pozzolona Cement (PPC) containing high amount of fly ash. Facilities to be provided to the construction workers: To minimize the adverse health effects all necessary/ suitable personnel protective equipments like helmet, safety goggles, gum boots, earmuff/ear plug and safety net etc will be provided for working personnel. Sanitation facilities, resting area, drinking water, municipal solid waste collection facility etc. will be provided for construction workers.

During Operation Water and wastewater Air and noise Municipal waste Parking/ traffic congestion Energy conservation Greenbelt Water requirement during the operation phase will be met through water supply from AMC. Water metering system as well as its records keeping will be made. Low water consuming devices viz. diffused water taps and twin flushing system, fixtures for showers, toilet, flushing and aerators/ diffusers or pressure reducing devices etc. will be provided. Storm water will be diverted into the storm water drainage line of A.M.C. Rain water harvesting structures will be erected. During rainy season, the whole system (roof catchment, pipes, screens, first flush, filters, tanks) will be checked before and after each rain and preferably cleaned after every dry period exceeding month and proper measures will be taken. Domestic wastewater (sewage)will be disposed-off through AMC drainage line D.G.Set, if any will be of enclosed type with necessary acoustic enclosures to mitigate the impact of noise. The stack height of the D.G. Sets will be as per CPCB norms. The municipal solid waste will be segregated in to dry/ wet waste and stored on site. The wet waste will be composted in organic waste composter and compost will be used for green belt development/given to AMC. Parking area will be provided as per the NBC / GDCR norms. To avoid traffic congestion separate entry and exit as well as well-planned wide internal roads will be provided. Solar lights will be provided in the open sunlit areas. Various energy conservation measures viz. use of LED lights for common areas like staircases, foyer etc., use of highly efficient transformers & variable frequency drive motors etc. will be implemented as proposed. Energy efficient devices, appliances, motors and pumps conforming to the Bureau of Energy Efficiency norms will be used. Variable frequency motor drives will be used. Greenbelt (tree covered and lawn covered green area) will be developed and maintained within/ around the premises.

Safety Fire protection system viz. fire extinguishers, hydrant system, sprinkler system, hose reel, fire pumps, manually operated electric fire alarm system etc. will be provided as per National Building Code of India 2005 (Part 4 Fire and Life Safety) and / local authority requirements. A lightning arrester will be provided and properly earthed to prevent damage to the building when the lightning strikes. First aid emergency kits will be provided in adequate quantity at all the times. An underground water storage tanks and overhead tank will be provided. All the lifts have a provision to ground automatically in case of electricity failure. Emergency lighting &auto glow signage will be provided to guide the people towards exits and assembly points during emergency. Main entry / exit will be separate and clearly marked. All the staircases and lifts [if any] will open out at ground level for emergency evacuation. Emergency power back up system will be provided. Adequate peripheral marginal space will be provided for free movement of fire tender/ emergency vehicle around the premises.
