The effectiveness of GOZONE WATER s brand can be shown in many successful applications & installations. These are principally in areas of water purification, treating industrial effluent & sewage water treatment plants. Our systems not only produce clear and odorless effluent, but feature low maintenance and operator input. GOZONE WATER s brand has the experience, equipment and resources to commission and maintain installations throughout Southern Africa and are most suited for applications like Game Lodges whom need to recycle effluent water to safe standards suitable for irrigation.

3 PROCESS DESCRIPTION - SUBMERGED FIXED-FILM AERATED TREATMENT PLANT DESIGN INFORMATION GOZONE WATER advanced sewage treatment technology have over the years been developing this process for its practicality in harsh African climates, where operator input is low and a high final quality effluent is desired. OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE PVC MEDIA BLOCKS The design philosophy has been to reduce complexity and specialised components. Like the Gozone aeration system, in line filters and reduced sludge production, together with the highest manufacturing standards are some of the keys in achieving this. Maintenance is simple and the systems can be operated by persons with basic literacy. DISCHARGE QUALITY Our standard systems are designed to meet South African department of water affairs general limit discharge values. We can achieve special standards for very sensitive environments such as world heritage sites. Here we can include phosphate removal on request. AERATION SYSTEM Gozone s design philosophy has always been made to be rugged, low maintenance systems whilst avoiding costly specialised equipment. The Gozone aeration system does exactly that. There are no pipes or orifices smaller than 50mm below the liquid line, thus eliminating potential blockages. All pumps have overload protection and are designed to handle solids and slurry found in the sewage. Pumps are positioned for easy access or can be mounted internally and are connected with quick release unions and ball valves for easy replacement. COMMISSIONING The bacteria responsible for the sewage break down enter the system through toilet flushing. No seeding is required. The bacteria take a couple of days to establish themselves before the bioprocesses begin. As such the plant takes approximately 14 days to reach optimum treatment capabilities. The system can handle general kitchen waste, provided a fat trap is installed upfront. Washing powder and detergents should be low-foam and biodegradable.

4 DISINFECTION Ozone will be used as primary disinfection as far possible, as it is a non-consumable, around 3000 times more effective than chlorine as a disinfectant and works around 350 times faster, this will deodorize and effectively disinfect the final treated water. SEPTIC TANK Septic tanks are specifically designed to pretreat the sewage prior to entering the sewage treatment plant. The septic tank is a concrete water proofed structure, the design for each size sewage treatment plant septic tank will be provided by Gozone, but the construction of the septic tank is not included in the cost of the sewage treatment plant. Gozone will assist as far possible with local service providers in order to obtain the best quotation. 5 PLANT COMPONENTS Bioreactors - Can be constructed from concrete, housed in re-enforced containers or tanks - Plastic tanks range in size from 2.5 to 15kl and all systems are modular - Each bioreactor larger than 5kl is mounted with a 2 nd, backup aeration pump Clarifier - Design based on a specific settling rate/hour - Range in size depending on flow rates - Automated sludge recycle systems are incorporated Contact Tank - 10 Gram ozone generator will be circulated through the contact tank - Range in size depending on flow rates NOTE - All tanks are rota moulded, heavy duty chemical grade, UV stabilized - High quality pumps are used - Pipe work and fittings are SABS approved - The design allows for complete oxidation of odorous gases and removal of organics - The systems are upgradable and quick to install with little onsite disturbances - Tanks can be colored to suit the landscape SERVICE LEVEL AGREEMENT In order for plant performance warranties to be honoured, a Service Level Agreement is recommended. This involves a periodic site inspection to check that the plant is working correctly and staff are following the required maintenance tasks & will be quoted for separately upon request.

6 GENERAL - Gozone Water will enter into a written agreement with the nominated client who will be responsible to settle all payments as per the signed agreement(s). - The treated effluent from the system will meet the waste water limit values applicable to the discharge of waste water into a water resource general limits as specified by the local water affairs authorities. - Packaged plant systems are designed on the basis of receiving typical effluent to be expected from a residential development. - The system design parameters exclude non-organic matter. The effective operation of on-site sewerage treatment plants requires that the design and maintenance of the upstream reticulation is in order, particularly the septic tanks and grease traps. - Effective waste water treatment systems require regular inspection and pro-active maintenance. Information to aid the operator will be presented once the installation has been completed. Failure to regularly inspect the system and report malfunction will void the process design guarantee. - Mechanical and electrical parts are limited to the manufacturer s warranty policies. - Please note, any additional components to be replaced or recommended upgrades will be discussed, quoted for separately and replaced upon approval - You will also receive complete operation and maintenance manuals with trouble shooting guides o As well as daily maintenance checklist for each system o 24 Hour telephonic support - Gozone Water facilities and staff will always be available for technical support and essential upgrades - The installation for each site under liters per day should not take more than 7 days - Any standing time due to external delays and/or factors that influence the ability for Gozone to conclude their on-site activities will be for the clients account.
