2 Welcome to Burbo Bank Extension The Burbo Bank Extension Offshore Wind Farm is a fully operational power plant neighbouring the existing Burbo Bank Offshore Wind Farm. Ørsted is a renewable energy company that takes tangible action to create a world that runs entirely on green energy. We have invested significantly in the UK, where we develop, construct and operate offshore wind farms and innovative waste-to-energy technology. We also provide smart energy products to our commercial and industrial customers. We are undertaking a truly green transformation by divesting our oil and gas business and phasing out the use of coal from our power stations worldwide. 7 What makes the project special? Burbo Bank Extension is the first project in the world to use MHI Vestas V MW turbines. These are newly developed turbines which have more than double the capacity of the 3.6 MW turbines used at the existing Burbo Bank Offshore Wind Farm. Our new state of the art operations and maintenance facility is located at Kings Wharf, Birkenhead. This facility is where routine monitoring and management of both Burbo Bank Extension and Burbo Bank Offshore Wind Farm takes place. We are very happy to have moved to our new operations and maintenance base in Kings Wharf. Bringing the operations for Burbo Bank and the Extension together means we can save costs and improve efficiencies. I have a fantastic and dedicated team working on site and we aim to ensure we keep the turbines turning for the safe production of clean green energy in the Liverpool region.
