2 FMBR Technology-- State-of-the-art Wastewater Treatment Technology Technical Principle of FMBR FMBR technology is an innovative technology by cultivating composite bacteria in the sewage treatment system and creating a facultative environment. In this environment, various microorganisms are coexisted and form a microbial food chain, and the simultaneous and efficient treatment of sewage and sludge is achieved. The FMBR process is a short treatment process which can synchronously remove BOD, nitrogen and phosphorus and discharge little organic sludge during operation period. The comparison of FMBR with traditional treatment is shown in figure below. Advantages of FMBR Compared with Traditional Technology Shortcomings of the Traditional Techniques As shown in figure below, we can find that the traditional wastewater treatment technology has a complicated treatment process as well as discharges a large number of sludge. This will cause adjacent effect resulting in the mode of long distance conveyance and centralized process for the wastewater treatment. That is to say the household wastewater is collected by the pipeline and then conveyed to a place where is far away from the wastewater source. This mode exists problems as follows: 1. Great investment in pipeline, 80~90% of total investment. 2. Serious leakage of pipeline. Due to the construction quality and uneven settlement, leakeage in pipelines is unavoidable and causes large area cross contamination of sewage and groundwater. 3. The sludge is difficult to dispose and the treated water is difficult to reuse. Sludge disposal usually adopts methods as landfill and incineration, which require large area of land and fuel as well as generate secondary pollution. At the meantime, the treated water is far away from the downtown for reusing.

FMBR -- the Optimal Solution with Decentralized Mode In order to perfectly implement FMBR technology, JDL proposes and adopts the idea of decentralized wastewater treatment as on-site construction, treatment and reuse. Compared with the centralized mode, the decentralized mode has the following advantages: 1. The sewage collection pipeline can be greatly saved so that the total investment is reduced more than 60%. 2. Wastewater can be collected, treated and reused on-site. 3. Since the sewage requires short distance conveyance, water pollution due to pipeline leakage and misplacement is greatly reduced.

5 Cases Study International Project-Packaged Wastewater Treatment Plant for International Peace Keeping Force In 2010, 37 international companies bade at United Nations Headquarters in New York for supplying sewage treatment equipments to Peace Keeping Force. Finally FMBR technology ranked NO.1 in the tender so that we won the bid. Nowadays, FMBR has been applied in 14 countries such as Italy, Liberia, and JDL becomes registered vendor of UN Secretariat. Inspection of the Prototype by Organization s Experts Integrated Facilities Ready to Export Beijing Houweigou Village Sewage Treatment Project Houweigou village sewage treatment station is located in the northeast of Chaoyang District, Beijing, adjacent to Wenyu River. The sewage treatment station is a key project of Beijing Black-odor Water Treatment Program. The local government adopted JDL FMBR technology to collect and dispose domestic sewage that cannot be delivered to the municipal pipe network. The treatment scale of this project is 0.53 MGD of wastewater. It adopted 8 sets of JDL-FMBR-250 equipment with semi-buried method and only took 3 months to reach the emission standard from the date of construction beginning. The treated effluent satisfied the Level 3 and Level 4 requirements of surface water standard. The main characteristic indicators of the black-odor water are COD 20 mg/l, NH 3 -N 1.5 mg/l. After the treated effluent was discharged to Wenyu River, the water in the river became living which effectively improved the black-odor status of the river. Before Treatment After Treatment

6 Beijing Houweigou Village Sewage Treatment Project Bajing Town Wastewater Treatment Project in Jiangxi Province Wastewater treatment project in Bajing town, Gaoan city, with 0.53 MGD treatment capacity, is the key demonstration project, which is built nearby the residential buildings. The treated water quality steadily meets the national standards of the Urban Sewage Recycling Miscellaneous Urban Water Quality Standard (GB/T ). The treated water is directly used for irrigating surrounding plants, washing roads and flushing toilets. Bajing Town Wastewater Treatment Engineering

7 Jiangxi Province Huichang County Sewage Treatment Project Huichang county has built the first sewage treatment plant in the county ( Class B, treatment capacity of 2.64 MGD). With the development of the city, the sewage volume in Huichang county is increasing day by day. The standard for treatment of effluent is upgraded to Class A. The original STP was unable to treat the growing wastewater and meet new effluent requirements. In order to achieve effective treatment of increased wastewater and meet new effluent standards, the phase II of the sewage treatment facility in Huichang county was constructed in As a result of good effluent quality and small footprint of FMBR technology, Huichang county selected FMBR technology to build the second sewage treatment plant close to the first STP. The treatment capacity of the project is 2.64 MGD. Compared with the first STP, the FMBR process has the advantages of short construction period, small area and simple management.
