2 Point of Use Filtration Immediate protection against harmful water borne pathogens Point of Use Filtration When to use POU filtration T-Safe Point of Use Filtration (POU) by Tandrup ensures immediate protection from exposure to a wide range of harmful waterborne pathogens, providing a safeguard mechanism for building users until a safe engineering control is implemented. T-Safe shower, tap and inline filters provide sterilising grade filtration that effectively removes opportunistic waterborne pathogens such as Legionella spp., Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Stenotrophomonas maltophilia and Non-Tuberculous Mycobacteria from the water distribution system at the point of use. This prevents the release of bacteria and ensures protection of end users whom otherwise would be at risk of exposure to infection that could prove to be potentially fatal. With high capacity hollow fibre membrane filtration media, T-Safe offers protection for up to 92 days from installation delivering the longest validated lifecycle on the market. This provides adequate time to investigate the source of the contamination in your water system, safe in the comfort that users are protected, enabling normal building operations to continue until the most appropriate and cost-effective engineering control is implemented. As an interim safeguard where control measures have been ineffective e.g. laboratory analysis results confirming the presence of harmful micro-organisms in the water system, loss of temperature control, loss of biocide application or secondary disinfection control. As a long-term safeguard where there is no effective alternative or where additional protection is required for vulnerable patients, residents or building users e.g. in augmented care areas or residential care homes. During periods of plumbing refurbishment and maintenance work. During engineering remedial works. Where high levels of disinfection of water systems may dislodge biofilms. Seasonally unoccupied buildings, that are not drained down or decommissioned. Where there is a confirmed or suspected infection from the water system. UK Guidance Point of Use Filtration is recommended by the Health & Safety Executive as outlined in HSG274 Part 2. The guidance advises that filtration should be used primarily as a temporary control measure until a safe engineering solution is developed.however, filtration may also be used on a long term or permanent basis where there is no safe alternative or in certain healthcare settings (see HSG274 Part 2 section 2.117). HTM 04:01 safe water in healthcare premises published by the Department of Health also recommends utilising POU Filtration as either a temporary or long term control measure. HTM 04:01 also provides further advice around when filtration should be deployed as a responsive control measure and outlines considerations for selecting appropriate filtration products. This includes the requirement for products to demonstrate adequate microbiological retention efficacy in accordance with ASTM F standard (see HTM 04:01 part A section and part B section ). Certification & Assurance T-Safe complies fully with the Health & Safety Executive and Department of Health guidance requirements for point of use filtration, including; 0.2µm sterilising grade filtration Microbiological retention efficacy validated to ASTM F WRAS approved products and materials T-Safe is manufactured in a controlled production environment that is certified in accordance with EN ISO standards. ISO provides the guarantee that as a medical device manufacturer Tandrup have detailed and externally audited processes in place to ensure the quality, safety and effectiveness of our medical devices. This includes randomised batch testing and lot numbering that ensures consistent quality and full tractability throughout the production process.

5 Product Overview Medical Handheld Filter Shower Medical Tap Outlet Filter Medical In-Line Filter Product Number: Product Number Product Number Biomaster Antibacterial Technology T-Safe Point of Use Filtration devices incorporate Biomaster antibacterial additive technology, which is impregnated into the product base materials during manufacturing. Biomaster is non-leaching and so remains within the product for its lifetime, providing a constant limiting barrier to bacteria growth by actively killing bacteria that meets the protected surface reducing the risk of cross infection. The antibacterial properties of T-Safe has been independently tested and validated against a range of water-borne pathogens in accordance with ISO 22196, Measurement of antibacterial activity on plastics. T-Safe has been proven to reduce the growth of bacteria by up to 99.9% within 24 hours against; Escherichia coli Staphylococcus aureus Pseudomonas aeruginosa Legionella pneumophila T-Safe Features Sterilising grade 0.1µm point of use filtration Up to 92 day life-cycle Hollow fibre membrane Excellent flow rates, no air locking Biomaster Antibacterial Additive Technology GS1 Data Matrix Identification Compliant wiht all HTM 04:01 requirements ASTM F certified WRAS approved Manufactured in accordance with ISO Range of tap adopters with flow stop and back flow protection Tap filter installation arrangement minimises impact on activity space & air gap Tap filters compatible with non touch taps including a swivel head function No adopters required for Filter Shower Sterile and non sterile packaging
