4 Heathcare waste in the European Union Code of the European ist of waste has created doubts concerning cassification of some heathcare waste, probems with their recycing, and costs of treatment Outside EU this waste is cassified and handed as packaging or municipa waste Eurostat statistics on heathcare waste generation no onger exists Since 2014 Eurostat pubishes the statistics together with hazardous chemica waste generated by other sectors thus they are useess! 10 Paradigm change: Circuar Economy On December 2 nd, 2015 European Commission has started negotiation of a package of strategic egisation caed Circuar Economy It aim is to change inear economy into circuar one by cosing the oop of a product ife cyce - starting from extraction of virgin materias, design, production, use, recovery and recycing when it becomes waste (secondary raw materia) It shoud strengthen and make more coherent impementation of compiance in products poicy, guidance on industria emissions, consumers protection against unfair practices, interface between chemicas, products and waste egisation Sow ong ife of products Tight no superfuous use of resources, and waste generation Loca territoria hierarchy Cean non toxic
