In addition to meeting legal requirements, Symantec will continue to work to reduce the use of environmentally sensitive materials in our products, as well as continue to evaluate the technical and environmental, health and safety impacts of alternative materials. Compliance documentation, such as Declaration of Compliance for the product is available upon request to regulatory_compliance@symantec.com. Products that are relocated to other countries should use nationally certified power cords and plugs to ensure safe operation of the product. DECLARATIONS OF COMPLIANCE The list of global legal and market requirements is constantly changing and too lengthy to list in this data sheet. 3 EU RoHS Declaration The EU RoHS regulation is specific to the sale of electronic equipment within the EU. This directive was implemented in the EU on July 1, The RoHS Recast Directive Enforcement began January 2, 2013 and is more restrictive than the original RoHS 2002 Directive. Symantec products sold in the EU on or after July 1, 2006 comply with the EU RoHS (including RoHS-6) requirements. In line with the RoHS Recast Directive, service or upgrade parts that do not meet the restricted levels may no longer is offered to support legacy products sold prior to July 1, 2006 unless they are compliant. All of Symantec s Appliances currently available for sale meet the RoHS and the RoHS Recast requirements. Symantec understands the environmental risks associated with the hazardous substances covered by the ROHS and the Recast Directive and have removed the use of these substances in its products. India RoHS Declaration All Symantec branded products have been designed and manufactured in compliance with E-Waste (Management & Handling) Rules on the reduction in the use of hazardous materials in the manufacture of electrical and electronic equipment and their maximum allowed concentrations by weight in the homogenous material (except for the exemptions listed in schedule II). Symantec complies with the REACH directive. REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals, EC 1907/2006) is the European Union s chemical regulation that came into force on 1 June 2007 and will be phased in over an 11 year period (until 2018). 4 Based on our current knowledge and current supplier information we do not expect that any of Symantec products contain Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) as listed by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) under the provisions of Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 of the European Parliament and of the council concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) per the ECHA 18/06/2012 and previous updates. Please note, that we are not performing any special tests or analysis regarding DMF. Symantec confirms that to the best of its knowledge all the products and packing materials as supplied from our Company do not contain DMF in the product and does not have in the Symantec packaging any anti-mould bags which contain DMF as a biocide. 5 EU WEEE: Products are marked with this symbol to show that they were produced after 13th August 2005, and should be disposed of separately from normal domestic / commercial waste so that they can be recycled This product should not be disposed of with domestic / commercial waste. It should be deposited at an appropriate facility to enable recovery and recycling. o Much of the WEEE ends up in landfill, where the lead and other toxins it contains can cause soil and water contamination. This can have a harmful effect on natural habitat, wildlife and also human health. o Many electrical items that we throw away can be repaired or recycled. Recycling items helps to save our natural finite resources and also reduces the environmental and health risks associated with sending electrical goods to landfill. Our product complies with European Directive 2002/96/EC, on waste electrical and electronic equipment. EU Packaging Directive Declaration No CFCs (chlorofluorocarbons), HCFCs (hydrofluorocarbons) or other ozone depleting substances are used in packaging material. Chromium, lead, mercury, or cadmium are not intentionally added to packaging materials and are not present in a cumulative concentration greater than 100 ppm as incidental impurities. No halogenated plastics or polymers are used for packaging material. Symantec comply with the EU Directive 94/62/EEC. EU Batteries Directive Declaration Products are marked with this symbol to show that they were produced after 13th August 2005, and should be disposed of separately from normal domestic/commercial waste so that they can be recycled. Batteries in this product should be collected separately and not disposed of with domestic / commercial waste. Substances in batteries can have a potential negative impact on health and environment and therefore should be disposed of in the correct manner. ELECTROMAGNETIC COMPATIBILITY EMC Emissions Class refers to one of the following use environments: o EMC Class B products are intended for use in residential/domestic environments but may also be used in non-residential/non-domestic environments. o EMC Class A products are intended for use in non-residential/non-domestic environments. Class A products may also be utilized in residential/domestic environments but may cause interference and require the user to take adequate corrective measures. For Product Safety and EMC compliance, this product has been assigned a unique regulatory model and regulatory type that is imprinted on the product labeling to provide traceability to the regulatory approvals noted on this datasheet. This datasheet applies to any product that utilizes the assigned regulatory model and type including marketing names other than those listed on this datasheet. ErP compliance is tied to the CE mark. VIII. GLOBAL TRADE COMPLIANCE Certain Symantec products, including software, documentation, services, and related technical data, available on the Symantec and other websites are subject to export controls administered by the United States (including, but not limited to, the U.S. Department of Commerce Export Administration Regulations ( EAR )) and other countries including, controls for re-export under European Union, the Singapore Strategic Goods Control Act, and the import regulations of other countries.
