2 ABOUT PI As a European Testing Photovoltaic Institute in which pe 时 ormance, reliability and durability tests of PV products and systems, PI Berlin is recognized and accredited by DAkkS (Ge rman accreditation authority) and internationally as a CBTL by the IECEE (International Electrotechnical Commission) in accordance with IEC / ISO / DIN It is also fully authorized to conduct testing under IEC 61215, and Furthermore, it is listed in the Intertek / ETL Satellite 3 Programs as a lab entitled to carry out testing in accordance with UL PI Berlin is officially recognized as a testing laboratory for the CEC (California Energy Commission), banks (e.g. DKB-German Credit Bank) and financing institutions. To secure high product quality and reduce investment risks for global manufacturers, investors and EPC's, PI Berlin has set up an advanced quality testing laboratory in Suzhou. Valid IEC tests,pi China mainly conducts in examining modules before shipping,testing samples,checking the quality control of production and carrying out frequent factory inspections.and PI China also provides vaious inspection services for PV systems. 3 PIO CERTIFICATION ANO BAOGE PROGRAM F A potential difference between superstrate / frame and cells and it 's resulting electrical field could lead to a degradation of the module's maximum power and effect called Z Potential-Induced Oegradation ( PIO Effect) ZZ PI now provides PIO Certification and Badge Program for worldwide clients. Test module SHdesigns ( referring to specific material combinations) are selected by PI, according to tm Zthe IEC certification documents provided by the manufacturer for the products / products lines,on which the manufacturer is intending to use the PIO badge. Modules o Ehave to be categorized as CLASS A according to the test results in order to fulfill the -precondition for the assignments of the PIO badge of the referring product / product series of the manufacturer REQUIREMENTS FOR PIO BAOGE The solar module type ( product / product series ) has to be certificated according to IEC 61215/61730 ( required BOM and certificate ) Certification documents and recent / relevant BOMs have to be provided to PI Berlin Test module designs ( referring to specific material combinations ) are selected according to the IEC certification documents. There will be always two solar modules to be tested per design type ( for initial as well as retesting programs ) After receiving the PIO badge and certification documents, another approval of PI Berlin (potentially including retesting) will be necessary in the instance of any of the following design changes: changes in the main design (Iayout, mounting) change of encapsulation material (acc. to IEC) ---- change of solar cell (acc. to IEC) change of back sheet '. 5 PV SYSTEM ENGINEERING AND PV POWER PLANT SUPPORT The manufacturer-independent Berlin-based engineering firm PI EXPERTS is a wholly;-owned subsidiary of PI. The specialist team headed by Sven Lehmann is a strong consulting group boasting over sixteen years professional experience in developing and implementing renewable energy projects worldwide with proven expertise in the field of photovoltaics in particular Planning ( system design, concept design and implementation planning, yield analysis ) Feasibility studies ( rough planning, cost estimating, profitability ) Yield reports ( simulation of new or existing systems ) Ouality assurance ( acceptance inspection, PR analysis, technical due diligence, commissioning ) Field research ( curve measurements, thermal imaging, insulation measurements, electroluminescence, PID, failure analysis ) Studies and market research TECHNICAL DUE DILlGENCE Technical acceptance including a risk analysis of all identified defects. Following norms and standards are considered: DIN VDE /712, IEC 62124, IEC 62446, IEC , IEC , IEC 62548, IEC 61215, IEC and IEC Evaluation of the design criteria Evaluation of the available documentation as per IEC Evaluation of the hardware components in regard to quality, conformity, guarantee conditions, suitability and adaptability to theenvironmental conditions Site inspection. Evaluation of the execution in accordance to the technical design. PR analysis Extended report including recommendations and a list of defects. Risk evaluation of the identified defects PROJECT SUPERVISION AND CONSUL TING During erection of equipment, PI will supervise and verify that the installation is carried out as per design procedures, given approvals and acceptance criteria. The visits will be planed to fit with construction milestones previously defined by PI. Initial visit.
