1 GENERAL MANAGER - LIFTING - JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION: FUNCTION: General Manager - Lifting To lead, develop and motivate the staff within a designated lifting depot. To ensure a consistent high quality of service, equipment, premises and people. Develop and maximise revenue for the Lifting Division from existing GAP customers and introduce new customers to the Group to ensure the division meets budgeted revenue and profit targets. REPORTING TO: LOCATION: LIAISING WITH: Regional Operations Manager GAP Depot Other General Managers, GAP Plant & Tool and Non-Mech depots, Major Account Team, HR, GAP One, Head Office staff. RESPONSIBILITIES: PROFITABILITY: ensure the depot meets annual budgeted profit Effective management of all employees within the depot Produce monthly KPI report from receipt of P&L Maintain budgeted margins through all areas of the P&L Effective control of costs Achieve budgeted revenue in all areas Identify failings, produce solutions, implement and follow up Produce annual budgets in conjunction with the Lifting Operations Manager Assume responsibility for and protect all company assets held at the depot SALES: ensure the depot meets annual sales budget Maintain close high level contact with key regional, local and national account customers within the area Identify the lifting needs of existing GAP customers and maximise this revenue Identify and introduce new customers to the Lifting Division Establish customer spend with their existing supplier to determine best possible rates for GAP Prepare and submit proposals and quotations to customers Visual inspections of equipment prior to hire when required Preparation and submission of reports to Regional Operations Manager Ensure consistent high quality of customer satisfaction Work closely with major accounts team to grow revenue Consistent delivery of the company sales strategy both internally and externally Promote the can-do team culture (everyone plays a part in sales)

2 PEOPLE: Lead, develop, and protect the staff within your depot Monitor and promote all health and safety procedures Promote teamwork and co-operation within the depot and across division and group Inspire and deliver a Can Do attitude from the depot team Manage the Human Resource function within the depot, in co-operation with HR Resolve performance issues directly in relation to staff in consultation with HR and the Regional Operations Manager Take time to interact with every staff member during the working day Carry out annual appraisals or job chats with all employees Manage the annual salary review under direction from HR and the Regional Operations Manager Treat everyone fairly and with respect Identify where training is required and work with HR to resolve Understand and work within the employees handbook and HR procedures file Facilitate regular depot meetings and produce short minutes Take an involvement in major social events within the depot, both customers and staff ADMIN: Consistently achieve the expected level of Admin both personally and from within your depot Produce accurate monthly KPI reports for the Lifting Operations Manager. In conjunction with relevant staff produce detailed action plans where failings exist Produce written confirmation following all meetings of significance with customers or staff Ensure all deadlines are met both for you and from you Ensure queries and query sheets are handled effectively and on time Achieve min of 70% in depot audits, when below 70% resolve issues and implement action plan for the future Answer calls/ s immediately when possible or return calls/ s as soon as possible PRODUCT AND PREMISES: Ensure quality, availability, consistency and security Safeguard all company assets, nothing leaves depot without correct paperwork, equipment, consumables, sales etc. No account = no hire, No account = no sales Complete weekly fleet checks No cash transactions whatsoever No loans of plant without written authorisation from the Lifting Operations Manager Ensure fleet audits have no more than 10 items missing Ensure availability and utilisation of fleet both within the depot and through cooperation with other LSEs across the Division GAP Minimum standard for depot appearance to be at least a 7 out of 10 Target less than 5% of fleet under repair Ensure all equipment for hire is 100% safe, maintained and complete further ensure all maintenance records are kept up to date Work within the Health and Safety Policy of the company to ensure safe working practices Ensure the depot is kept clean, tidy and secure Ensure all vehicles are safe/presentable/legal and maintained properly
