3 WHAT IS A LEARNER GROUP? List of people used to assign training in Oracle Learning Management Can be Static (named individuals) Can be Dynamic (based on various criteria)

7 LEARNER GROUPS Eligibility can be defined by Learner, Assignment, Learner Group, or Eligibility Profile Employees that meet the criteria for membership are automatically added Employees that no longer meet the criteria for eligibility are automatically removed

13 ARE THERE ANY LEARNER GROUP LIMITATIONS? Learner Group enrollments and subscriptions are not undone when a Learner no longer qualifies for membership.

14 WHAT ARE DERIVED FACTORS? Eligibility criteria that are calculated by the application and can change over time Length of service Hours worked per period Compensation level Percent of full-time employment Age

16 HOW DO YOU CREATE A LEARNER GROUP BASED ON A DERIVED FACTOR? Create the Derived Factor Map the Derived Factor to an Eligibility Profile Map the Eligibility Profile to a Learner Group

19 POTENTIAL USE CASES Group new hires together for onboarding training based on length of service Calculate eligibility for an apprenticeship program based on hours worked Offer pension workshops based on employee age and length of service

20 WHAT ARE ELIGIBILITY PROFILES? Calculate eligibility for Learner Groups just like you can in Benefits! Criteria no longer limited to Learner, Assignment (combination of Organization, Job, and Position), or other Learner Group Provide the ability to also exclude

22 POTENTIAL USE CASES Offer specific training only to part-time employees Perform a mandatory enrollment in a safety Class for all employees at a specific location

23 AND / OR CALCULATIONS For a Single Eligibility Profile Within the same tab, each item is evaluated as an OR Each different tab is evaluated as AND

24 AND / OR CALCULATIONS Example: A single Eligibility Profile Employment Tab: Full-Time OR Salaried Derived Factors Tab: Length of Service > 5 Years Translation = Any full-time or salaried employee that has been with the company more than 5 years

25 AND / OR CALCULATIONS Nested Eligibility Profiles in a Learner Group are evaluated as ORs unless you make all components mandatory If you wanted to change the previous example to allow any full-time employee, salaried employee, OR an employee that had been with the company for more than 5 years Nest 2 Eligibility Profiles under 1 Learner Group 1 Eligibility Profile - Employment Tab: Full-Time OR Salaried 1 Eligibility Profile - Derived Factors Tab: Length of Service > 5 Years Make sure the checkbox is unchecked for Learners have to be member of all components in this Learner Group

26 AND / OR CALCULATIONS If you want to make sure everyone in a Learner Group is full-time and salaried and has been with the company for more than 5 years Create 3 Eligibility Profiles 1 Eligibility Profile - Employment Tab: Full-Time 1 Eligibility Profile - Employment Tab: Salaried 1 Eligibility Profile - Derived Factors Tab: Length of Service > 5 Years Create 3 Learner Groups (one for each Eligibility Profile) Create a parent Learner Group and nest the other Learner Groups underneath it Make sure the checkbox is checked for Learners have to be member of all components in this Learner Group
