2 PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION: Reporting to the Project Manager, the primary function of the Maintenance Planner will be to develop maintenance schedules for all project equipment for planned maintenance; development and revision of service sheets; planning and scheduling off site repairs of various equipment across the project fleet; liaising with a variety of stakeholders both internal and external regarding equipment needs whilst ensuring site compliance with documentation. SELECTION CRITERIA: Essential SC 1 Demonstrated level of skill in the planning, control and reporting of plant and equipment (mechanical and marine) maintenance activities and systems within a marine engineering environment. SC 2 Possession of a recognised Civil, Building or Mechanical Trade Certificate or experience in maintenance/engineering field SC 3 Demonstrated knowledge of the operation, repair and servicing requirements of marine plant and equipment including preventative maintenance principles. SC 4 Demonstrated substantial level of problem solving and organisation skills. SC 5 Substantial level of oral and written communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills. Intermediate computing skills. SC 6 Sound level of skill in analysing plant maintenance processes and procedures and suggesting initiatives that promote improved customer service. SC 7 A working knowledge Workplace Health and Safety including hazard and risk management together with Environmental Acts and Regulations and Quality Systems. NOTE: Applicants should specifically address each of the selection criteria, as short listing and selection will be based upon these selection criteria POSITION REQUIREMENTS: MANDATORY Demonstrated experience with the procurement of project marine equipment Experience preparing marine equipment for dry docking (meeting Australian requirements) Qualifications to issue navigation licenses & insurances Proven experience arranging maintenance and ensuring sufficient spare parts are available in case of breakdowns Proven site based and site-oriented Engineering experience of a large Marine Construction project; Possession of a current Queensland Open Driver s Licence. Undertake all duties as outline in the Project Management Framework and Project delegations. 4 POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: The Maintenance Planner is responsible for the following: Key Responsibilities Establish, maintain and improve the Maintenance Planning & Scheduling workflow program. Develop maintenance requirements for new assets and with changes in circumstance or use of existing assets Analyse task resource requirements including drawing interpretation to identify material and service requirements and identify suitable suppliers Manage forecasted works requiring budgeting, review work scope as required, plan, resource and schedule in consultation with Maintenance Supervisors, asset custodians and requestors. Develop resource, time and cost estimates for planned maintenance work. Collaborate with Maintenance Supervisors to achieve the most effective outcomes in all aspects of the maintenance workflow program. Manage emerging work via online Work Request Forms and database in consultation with stakeholders and assign negotiated priority. Create and release maintenance material requisitions as required. Obtain quotes, raise requisitions and approve purchase orders within delegated limits for maintenance services. (Service requisitions are almost always approved to purchase order by the planner or supervisor. Procurement do not add any value to approval of service requisitions). Investigate and develop cost effective repair schemes and modifications to assets to improve function and/or reliability Develop weekly schedule maintenance schedules to deliver short, medium and long-term maintenance objectives and manage maintenance task backlog. Performance Standards/Results Maintenance plans are prepared, maintained and assigned to operational assets within the CMMS. Standards, regulations, OEM requirements researched to develop maintenance requirements. Drawings, specifications, technical data used to establish effective preventive maintenance programs. Suppliers of material and services sourced and suitability in terms of cost, function and reliability assessed. Preventative Maintenance tasks are forecast with appropriate lead time for planning and scheduling. Maintenance tasks are forecast, planned, resourced and scheduled for action within the nominate time period. Budget tasks meet the required customer outcomes and are forecast, planned, resourced and scheduled for action within the nominate time period. Develop exceptions reports to measure task time estimates are within ±10% of actual Coordinate directly with appropriate stakeholders as required. Review emerging work for priority and action accordingly. Work to be planned and scheduled based on high priority to low priority. Coordinate with stakeholders as required. Maintenance requisitions created and released to procurement officers for action as required. Requisitions are created and released with due consideration to supply lead time. Purchase orders raised for maintenance services while considering cost, capability, availability and reliability of supplier. Suppliers managed in respect of delivery and quality. Assets repaired and/or modified in a cost effective manner to maintain serviceability and function Develop work schedules, reports and strategies to be tabled at weekly schedule meeting to reduce maintenance backlog. 5 Maintain records of maintenance activity for tasks where you are the Responsible Person Assist in the implementation of POTL s short, medium and long term maintenance objectives. Perform other duties as allocated by the Manager Maintenance. Asset Management Participate in asset and equipment stock takes as directed by the Manager Maintenance Financial Management Assist in the development of maintenance budgets, report on life cycle costing and asset replacement as required and report against nominated KPI s as directed by the Manager Maintenance. Actively provide positive input and solve day to day job problems for assigned tasks and establish and improve work methods. Participate in training relevant to the work environment including but not limited to: oil spill/cyclone/port emergency and other maintenance related training and procedures as directed. Capital Works Undertake minor capital works as requested by the Manager Maintenance. Actively demonstrate Safety Leadership and facilitate the integration of the foundation tools and Safety Culture initiative within the team to establish an interdependent culture. Perform other duties as directed by the Manager Maintenance. Records maintained in Objective and hard copy kept where required by legislation Develop an understanding of the current Corporate plan, Statement of Corporate Intent and Business unit plans Effective implementation of relevant aspects of the Maintenance Business Unit Plan. Duties are carried out effectively, and in a timely manner. Maintain records of asset and equipment stock takes and inspection and testing. Develop a sound understanding of the Corporations asset classes, their operational characteristics and their critically to port operations. Manage data collection of asset attributes and relevant data for input to asset registers. Development and maintenance of an effective critical spares list. Preparation of maintenance budget elements provided in a timely manner. Costing reports provided as required. Monthly cash-flow is accurate within ±10% over the average each quarter. Non-conformance matters/issues are identified, recorded and resolved in a timely manner utilising the required documentation and document appropriately. Work methods do not expose the employee or other employees to health and safety issues/incidents or cause damage to the environment; The Manager Maintenance is kept informed of all relevant procedures adopted. Attend all training as per role and business requirements. Actively participate in achieving individual development plan. Comply with capital works program and ensure quality and cost compliance. Report and rectify non conformances Deliver minor capital works within the nominated time frame.
