2 Login using your OneID and password.

4 Click the Performance plan and Development plan tabs to navigate back and forth. Click the Start tab for detailed instructions and examples. 1. Write or edit up to five objectives with relevant indicators and target dates as discussed with your manager/supervisor. Refer to the Start tab for examples. 3. Click Add objective to write additional objectives, indicators and target dates. Meet with your manager/supervisor to discuss and agree on the plans. You and your manager/supervisor can both see and make changes to the plans. Include a standard health and safety objective (refer to the Start tab). Any changes you make will automatically save. 2. Click Upload document if you wish to attach one. 4. Click Next to go to your development plan.

5 Meet with your manager/supervisor to discuss and agree on your plan. Type your developmental goals and activities. Refer to Start tab for examples of goals and activities. Click Next to go to the sign off page.

6 Hold the cursor over your name and click Log out to exit the system. Click Print report if you would like to print your plans. When you re ready, click Sign off. Your manager/supervisor needs to review and sign off your plans before you can move to the Progress stage.

Indicators Program materials reviewed and updated within agreed timeframes. Feedback from students indicates the program helped them understand the key principles and theoretical underpinnings of XYZ. Literature review and data collection completed. Model and application paper drafted. Suitable opportunities for dissemination/publication identified. Design, develop and implement a mentoring program for students. Program materials developed and delivered within agreed timeframes. Feedback from key stakeholders indicates they were informed and consulted. Copy and paste the relevant performance objective and indicators into your plan: Level Performance objective Performance indicator Professional & Academic Staff Contribute to a safe and healthy working environment. Staff noncompliance with or knowledge gaps relating to the University s health and safety policies and procedures identified and addressed. Local health and safety plans developed and implemented. Relevant health and safety online modules and/or training completed. Compliance with the University s health and safety policies and procedures. Health and safety risks across <relevant portfolio> identified and addressed. Staff noncompliance with or knowledge gaps relating to the University s health and safety policies and procedures identified and addressed. Portfolio-wide health and safety plans developed and implemented. Relevant health and safety online modules and/or training completed. 10 Examples of development goals and activities Development goal Development activity Improve project management skills Develop and seek feedback from a senior colleague on a large scale research project plan. Lead a collaborative research project. Attend the Managing Projects workshop. Build HDR supervision skills Seek feedback from past HDR students. Develop a network of and regularly meet with other HDR supervisors to share insights and learnings. Attend the LTC Supervising to Completion workshop. 11 How do I access or copy last year s objectives? 1. Click on About me 2. Click on Performance reviews 3. Select Complete from the drop down menu. 5. Select Print report from the I want to drop down menu to view last year s objectives. 4. Select Search

14 Meet regularly with your manager/supervisor to discuss your performance and development during the year. Both you and your manager/supervisor can add personal progress notes. Progress notes are private you will only be able to see your own notes and not your manager/supervisor and vice-versa. Throughout the year, add notes relating to your objectives and performance indicators and click on add to save them. Click on Add unplanned objective to add objectives as they arise during the year. Click on upload file to add any documents that support your progress and then click on add to save uploaded document.

16 The PDR will stay in the progress step until November. At which stage, the system will move your PDR to the review step.

19 Meet with your manager/supervisor to discuss your performance and development over the past year. You and your manager/supervisor can see each other s comments at all times. Review your objectives and write an overall summary of your performance over the past year and/or comment on each specific objective. Review your personal progress notes and link any appropriate entries to your review comments. You can edit or delete progress notes at any time before linking.

20 Meet with your manager/supervisor to discuss your performance and development over the past year. You and your manager/supervisor can see each other s comments at all times. Review the development plan and write an overall summary of your progress throughout the past year. Click the Next button at the bottom of the page to go to the sign off page.

21 Click Print report if you would like to print the review. Click the Log out button at the top of the page to exit the system. Both you and your manager/supervisor need to sign off the review to complete the PDR cycle. When you re ready, click Sign off.
