Independent and Collaborative ; Modules are both subject specific and guided towards more generic business skills to support the whole learner Contact sessions will encourage knowledge sharing from practitioner experience. Learners are encouraged to use the MLE to draw on peer support and to engage in informal study groups. Learning for Life and Employment; The whole programme is delivered and assessed to meet the CIPD s HR profession map requirements, which supports a learner s claim to a professional level of membership. CIPD membership is seen as a key asset for those working in and aspiring to work in HR. Most assessments on taught modules will ask the learner to apply knowledge from their to their work experience. All WBL modules expect the learner will draw on workplace experience. On WBL modules learners will be encouraged to draw on additional experiences in the workplace to help generate assessment evidence and develop knowledge. Learners are encouraged to attend local CIPD branch events to network with the local HR community. Some of these are held on the University campus. The delivery in Kazakhstan will support the national skills agenda to up skill national employees. Learning for the future; The course will have an MLE site within which the course and module are contained; this supports students networking potential through social networks.

3 All taught modules utilise the MLE to deliver lecture materials to students and extended research areas. The taught modules are chosen to provide a generic base for HR practitioners The module and Organisational Evolution modules require the learner to consider the impact of HR activities on the maintenance of the wider organisation and wider stakeholders. The WBL modules allow the learner to develop knowledge in line with current and future organisational and personal needs and aspirations. All taught sessions encourage learners to share their workplace experience. The WBL modules encourage learners to reflect upon their workplace experience in light of researched best practice. The and teaching methods comprise of core contact time and directed individual activities. These are consistent with the University s standard delivery hours model at Undergraduate level. For the taught modules the core contact time is on a group basis. For wbl modules the core contact time is on a 1 to 1 basis. For all modules the core contact time is supported by directed reading and research, which comprises of individual research activities of both literature and organisational practice to develop the core input, to expand individual understanding of the workplace application of a range of HR concepts and to prepare for assessment. A VLE Moodle site will support all students and be the location of all lecture materials, handbooks, module guides and extended materials. Therefore the assessment strategy is designed to meet these requirements. This requires both knowledge and skill requirements to be assessed, and these can be mapped to predominantly band 3 of the HRPM. The matrix below refers to the assessment component by module where programme LO s are assessed. Assessment for each module is exclusively within the named module assessment; it is not combined within other modules. At programme outcome level assessment may be across all or some of the modules. Assessment on the taught modules is 100% coursework. Assessment approaches will draw upon a range of approaches which might include essays, reflective accounts of skills, knowledge and/or workplace practice, workplace reports, portfolios and skills demonstration and development blogs. Assessments on the WBL modules are innovative, in that they are agreed with student on an individual basis on a module by module basis, and the nature of our approach requires that students provide coverage of all outcomes for each module in a module portfolio format. The only exception is module Personal which requires two assessment components to meet the CIPD requirements. This enables a diverse range of assessment methods to be considered and might include written or verbal narratives, professional discussions, electronic media to evidence skills alongside more contemporary approaches such as essays and reports.
