Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue (BGCB) has been led by a dynamic and energetic Chief Executive Officer (CEO), who is retiring after more than 25 years of outstanding service. BGCB is a highly successful organization that is seen as a model by Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA), having been recognized twice for the ground-breaking outreach it has made in the low-income areas of the community, one of the first Clubs in the country to include girls, and awarded BGCA s coveted marketing award multiple times. Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue is one of the pillars of its community, is financially stable and has a strong Board of Directors and leadership team that collaborates with a wide variety of partners including the City of Bellevue, the Bellevue School District and King County Housing Authority and is poised to have even greater impact as it adapts to continuing change. BGCB offers youth development programs to members ages 3 19, serving over 800 youth and teens on a daily basis and more than 11,000 annually at its fourteen Club sites. The organization provides programs and activities after school and during the summer focusing on academic success, healthy lifestyles, and good character and leadership. Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue s fourteen sites within the City of Bellevue include the Main Clubhouse in downtown Bellevue, three in Public Housing Sites, five in elementary schools and two dedicated Teen Centers. BGCB has nearly reached its $23.5 million goal for full funding for three important projects that have recently been completed: the new Main Clubhouse in Downtown Bellevue; new Field House in Hidden Valley and Teen Center in Lake Hills. The President/CEO will be responsible for an annual operating budget of approximately $5 million and will work with a dedicated, high quality team of over 110 staff (30 full-time and 80 part-time) and nearly 1,500 volunteers at 14 different sites, a new location having been added every two years. With a booming downtown corridor and rapid population growth, a large immigrant population (over 95 languages are spoken in the Bellevue School District), and a continued upward trend in the number of both single parent homes and households with two working parents, the City of Bellevue has never had a greater need for strong social services. The new President/CEO will face a very dynamic environment in which to tailor programs and services to reach Bellevue s kids especially those that need us the most. 3 Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue relies upon the philanthropic support of individuals, corporations and foundations in order to sustain and grow its services, and provide the needed financial support to all members, including those with economic hardship, assuring no child is ever turned away. Funds generated for the Clubs, including a nearly completed $23.5 million capital campaign, help build a stronger future for the youth of today and the leaders of tomorrow. Revenue is derived from Program and Membership Fees (50%); Government, Foundation, Corporate and Individual Contributions (30%) and Events (20%). Over $1 million in program scholarships were awarded in 2017, and 86% of every dollar raised goes directly to programs for kids. BGCA, established in 1860, is a national nonprofit youth organization comprising 4,300 Clubs across the country and on U.S. military installations worldwide. These facilities help four million young people connect with opportunities for personal growth and achievement. The World Value Index, which measures the extent to which Americans are inspired by brands missions and the extent to which that inspiration drives active support ranked Boys & Girls Clubs #8 out of 200 organizations worldwide.
