2 APPLICATION PERIOD The Ennis Fire Department is seeking qualified applicants to fill 13 firefighter positions. The position posting and application period will remain open until all positions are filled. The Employment Application can be found online HERE or at the end of this document. Please print and sign your completed application. Certifications need to be sent with this application. Please send only the certifications listed on the Qualifications Point Sheet. CHECKLIST Signed and dated Qualification Point Sheet Completed Employment Application Copy of Certifications (Only the ones listed on the Qualification Points Sheet) QUALIFICATION REVIEW Initial applicant ranking will be determined based upon a point system measured by TCFP and TDSHS certification levels, education level and years of experience. Minimum qualifications are listed below: High School Diploma or GED Valid Texas driver license Texas Commission on Fire Protection Basic or higher Texas Department of State Health Services EMT Basic or higher After the qualifications review, the top ranking applicants will be invited to participate in a physical ability test. Invitations for the physical ability test will be issued a minimum of 2 weeks prior to the testing date. Candidates with the top combined scores (qualification review scoring and physical ability time) will begin the background process. Background investigations will be conducted by the Ennis Fire Department s Fire Marshal s Office. Candidates who successfully pass the background process may be invited to a panel interview. The top candidates will then be invited to the chief s interview. Depending on the number of open entry-level positions, a conditional offer of employment will be extended to the candidate(s).
