1 SOUTH WEST GAUTENG TECHNICAL AND VOCATIONAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING COLLEGE ADMINISTRATION (PS) AND LECTURING VACANCIES (CS): November 2018 The following staff vacancies currently exist at South West Gauteng TVET College, although the employer for staff members employed in these positions, will be the Department of Higher Education and Training. CHIEF ADMINISTRATION CLERK (SALARY LEVEL 7) SALARY NOTCH R PER ANNUM EXCL SERVICE BENEFITS Assets Supervisor (HO/ASS/01/2018) A Grade 12 / Matric Certificate A 3-year financial qualification (National Diploma or Degree) At least 3 years Accounting and Auditing of Fixed Assets Registers and general ledger experience on an accounting system EXCLUDING excel. Experience working with Accounting packages e.g Pastel, ITS, ACCPAC, etc Experience working in Supply Chain Management and Creditors Reconciliations Valid driver s license Duties /Responsibilities Assuring and supervising: that all assets are captured daily on a fixed assets register for the entire college. Fixed assets register is break down in to assets categories; vehicle, IT equipment, buildings and Workshop Equipment Assets being depreciated by its useful life value periods for the previous and current year. Acquisition dates and values are captured Assets are allocated per location Monthly reconciliation of asset register and ledger Assuring that the college new and replacement and insured with cost per invoice Reporting any theft, loss and claims of damaged of any assets to the insurer before lapse period 30 days Completing insurance claim forms regarding any theft, damages and send to insurance with serial number, barcodes and locations of incident Assuring and supervising: that all old existing and new assets are being bar coded and recorded on assets register after being delivered within 48 hours

2 Identification of college assets Assist in tracking in cases of theft Assuring and supervising that: inventories are being printed and updated monthly through assets verification. Assets movement is being monitored per locations and updated on asset register Serves as register of assets per location serial numbers of assets are easily identified Developing control measures by drafting assets forms Putting assets procedures in place by completing security gate pass and transfer of assets forms. Monitoring that college contract are well monitored regarding the service rendered that they meet standard requirement as per contract specification. Liaising and making follow-up with service providers regarding machine toners and service calls Seating on evaluations of tender process ensuring that the specification for tender and setup criteria for tender bids are followed. Ensuring that all tenders are registered on closing time and kept safe Preparing tender files a week before for evaluation meeting. Records or correct typed information at assets committee and bid evaluation minutes are distributed on time to staff Ensure free error minutes and all important information recorded that was discussed in the meeting for future reference. Job qualities Good coordination and communication skills. Good decision making, escalate issues if necessary. Analytical and do follow ups. Be able to work under pressure be able to work within a team. GENERAL ASSISTANT (SALARY LEVEL 4) SALARY SCALE: R PER ANNUM EXCL SERVICE BENEFITS Driver TECH/DRV/01/2018 Have a matric certificate Ability to speak English Have a license of 3 or more years experience (a must) Key Performance Areas Campus in exam center: transport of papers To operate light motor vehicle, Deliver and collect documents as per the request Transport officials, Wash all vehicles Fuel vehicle as required See to general vehicle maintenance and storage of the light motor vehicles Responsible for safety equipment in the campus Responsible for keeping all drainage systems clean

3 Assist with general campus maintenance (e.g.; clean garages) Perform all messenger duties Other duties as assigned Job qualities Have good driving skills (including a valid driver s license and PDP) Good knowledge of different routes Good communication and listening skills Attention to detail Honest and reliable EDUCATION SPECIALIST (PL2), Salary Notch R Per annum excluding benefits Senior Lecturer: Primary Agriculture (Ref: SL/PA/01/2018) Three-year relevant teacher s qualification. 3 years relevant experience SACE registration required A valid driver s license Main objectives and key functions to engage in learning / facilitating as per workload of the relevant post level and the needs of the college mark sheets and records of assessment to assess and record the attainment of learners to provide and co-ordinate guidance; on the latest development on approaches to the subject or program, methods, techniques, assessment, aids, etc. in the filed and effectively convey these to the staff members concerned (including matters related to unit standards, learnerships, the NQF, SAQA and assessment). On syllabuses, schemes of work, homework, practical work, remedial work, learner portfolios, learner packs, modules, etc To inexperienced or newly appointed staff members On the educational wellness of learners in the subject or programme to control the work of educators and learners in the subject or programme, test and examination papers as well as memoranda (where applicable), assessment portfolios the administrative responsibilities of staff members the budget of the subject or program to share in the responsibilities of organizing and conducting extra and co-curricular activities to advise regarding the division of work among the staff in the subject or programme to participate in agreed educator appraisal processes in order to regularly review professional practice with the aim of improving learning and management to advise the skills development facilitator regarding training and development needs of personnel to initiate and monitor program development and to jointly set up a personal growth plan for each member of staff he/she are responsible for to assist with the planning and management of college stock, text books, learner packs and support material and equipment for the subject or program the budget for the subject or programme subject or programme work schemes and policies chairperson at senior lecturer meetings, secretary of senior lecturer meetings

4 general / administrative of time tabling, learner support, learner counseling, learner job placement, registrations, part-time programs, national examinations and assessment to co-operate with colleagues in order to maintain good learning and teaching standard and progress among the learners and to foster administrative efficiency within the subject or programme and the college To collaborate and network with educators of other colleges in developing the subject or programme and conducting extra-curricular activities. To meet parents and guardians to discuss with them the progress, attendance and conduct of their children To participate in subject or programme professional committees, seminars and workshops in order to contribute to and / or update professional views and standards Closely advice, assess and moderate all ICASS, CAT and ISAT activities in the department To co-operate with further and higher education institutions in relation to learner records and performance and career opportunities Job requirements Good coordination and communication skills. Minimum Requirements for Lecturing (PL1) Positions A recognized 3 year Degree/Diploma Teachers qualification with majors in the particular field of study. Registration with SACE (South African Council of Educators). In-depth knowledge of the subject. Excellent communication in English (written and verbal), organising, planning and administration skills. Ability to monitor students performance and provide critical feedback in an objective and professional manner. Ability to relate to students in a professional manner and to promote a conducive teaching and learning environment. Duties and responsibilities: Assist with recruitment, registration and induction of students Facilitate general academic and career development of students Prepare lesson plans and lecturer students in compliance with the College Annual Academic Plan, the Campus timetable and the College Quality Management System Assess students, maintain assessment records and capture marks electronically in compliance with the College s policies and procedures. Create a conducive classroom environment and ensure efficient classroom management and discipline of student s

5 Report to the Senior Lecturer and liaise with the Student Support Officers in providing support interventions to student s Distribute textbooks and student packs to students and maintain the necessary records Manage and monitor student attendance, and organize job placement and excursions for students. Engineering Lecturing Posts: Appropriate Bachelor s Degree OR equivalent recognized 3yr Engineering qualification that includes a Teachers qualification (REQV 13) or Trade Test with at least a completed N3 certificate with relevant subjects
