2 About this qualification Unique Student Identifier (USI) Participants Materials/ equipment requirements Program Units Program and entry requirements This qualification applies to individuals such as executive offices, program consultants and co-ordinators who may possess sound informal business skills and knowledge with substantial experience in a range of business settings, but wishes to further develop their skills across a wide range of business practices. This qualification may prepare them for further study or further employment opportunities L. P Communications verifies Student Identifiers with the USI register that have been provided by the applicant. L. P Communications ensures that it only issues AQF Certification documentation only when a valid USI is maintained in the Student records Management System (ICare), ensuring the security of the USI is controlled. If an exemption applies under the Student Identifiers Act 2014, L. P. Communication will inform the applicant that the results program will not be recorded on any authenticated VET transcript prepared by the USI register. Participants must provide their own writing materials such as pens, pencils and notepads. Students will also need access to the internet and word processing programs to complete this program This qualification requires 8 units of competency, consisting of: BSBADM502 Manage meetings BSBWRT401 Write complex documents BSBADM506 Manage Document Design and Development BSBSUS501 Develop workplace policy and procedures for sustainability BSBMKG523 Design and develop an integrated marketing communications Plan BSBLED502 Manage programs that promote personal effectiveness BSBWOR501 Manage personal work priorities and professional development BSBHRM513 Manage Workforce planning Note Only on discussion and approval of the RTO Manager can any of these units be substituted with other units to meet an individuals and workplace needs There are no prerequisites for entry into this qualification and/or for individual units of competency within this qualification. However, L P Communications entry requires expect the applicant has access to a business environment to implement practical skills required of the units.

3 L. P. COMMUNICATIONS has a Pre-training review policy in place outlining the requirements for entry into our program. All prospective clients will receive: Course information, including duration, delivery mode and vocational outcomes along with course fees and entitlements (if applicable) for VTG funding. A Pre-training review, one-on-one, with an authorised RTO delegate prior to enrolment. o No minimum education standard is set, however, this will be considered to ascertain if client is required to complete an LLN assessment (Diploma level or above will be exempt from LLN assessment) o Program requirements are discussed and a summation of skills is documented to ensure participant has Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills at the required level (see LLN considerations) o Current competencies are considered and documented o Preferred learning strategies are identified o Intended pathways and outcomes are also considered and documented to ensure participants have the best possible vocational outcome o A clients working status is also considered and documented. Clients are to be working in a full time or part time capacity. o Clients must be 18 years of age or above and have access to a workplace environment o An applicant s obligation of fees and payment options and any government funding assistance that they may be entitled too o The applicant is informed that L. P. COMMUNICATIONS can only accept payments up to $ for prepayment of fees prior to commencement. A payment plan is implemented when fees are in excess of $ o Explanation of the refunds in the event of arrangements being terminated early by the participant or if L. P. COMMUNICATIONS fails to provide the agreed services for the program. The above will be analysed by an authorised RTO delegate prior to client receiving letter of enrolment and signing relevant enrolment and training plan documentation If client is deemed unsuitable for entry into the program, at this point in time, they will be notified by relevant authorised RTO delegate to discuss further options and referrals to relevant support networks

4 Recognition of Prior Learning Language, Literacy and Numeracy requirements L. P. COMMUNICATIONS has Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfer (CT) policies and procedures in line with the Standards for Registered Training Organisations Applicants are able to have their current competencies from prior learning and work experience recognised via RPL or CT. This is discussed and if applicable, documented at pre-training review stage. RPL - If the applicant has previously completed training or has course related skills and experience they may be eligible for RPL. L. P. COMMUNICATIONS will provide information to the applicant that outlines the RPL process and evidence requirements Applicants will be assessed on an individual basis and may apply for partial RPL for one or more units of competency or entire qualification If Applicants are deemed eligible for RPL they need to compile and present evidence, in consultation with the trainer/assessor following enrolment Participants need to provide the necessary evidence (primary and secondary) to demonstrate their competency in accordance with the competency requirements of the qualification/units of competency and the rules of evidence CT s/national Recognition If the applicant has previously completed a qualification or unit of competency that is deemed to have identified equivalence in content and learning outcomes they may be eligible for CT s. L. P. COMMUNICATIONS will provide information to applicants that outlines the CT process and evidence requirements including o AQF certification documentation issued by any other RTO or AQF authorised issuing organisation o authenticated VET transcripts issued by the Registrar National recognition will be granted if a participant holds units of competency and wishes to complete the program. L. P. COMMUNICATIONS will review a client s LLN skills during the Pre-training review. The qualification demands a level of skills in the following core areas, including but not limited to: Reading and comprehension skills to follow workplace procedures or work instructions, using learning manuals, reading information of relevance and suggesting how information may be applied Writing writing clear sequenced sentences, writing factual text, taking notes in a discussion, recording comments and using

5 Numeracy correctly entering data, summaries and use of calculator Learning cognitive skills to develop and present information and recommendations to support organisational and managerial plans. Technology skills to create word processed documents and conducting research online Communication Oral communication skills including delivering a short prepared talk to co-workers and answering questions; questioning implications of new processes, expressing an opinion, listening to and responding to emergency evaluation procedures Enrolment Pathways for participants Standard 5.1 If these skills will present a problem for the participant during the program, please contact the L. P. COMMUNICATIONS to discuss the support options available to you. Participants can reserve a place in the Certificate IV in Business Administration program through an on-line course enquiry, phone contact or arranged face-to-face meeting. Enrolment will be confirmed after a Pre-Training Review is undertaken with the participant. Participants are provided with advice on career and further training opportunities throughout the delivery of the program. L. P. COMMUNICATIONS does not currently provide all the qualifications indicated within the pathway options but identifies that relevant progressions are available. Training pathways: Advanced Diploma of Business Vocational pathways: Learner cohorts Standard 1.1 & 1.2a Business Manager Participants undertaking the program may include: Learner Cohort 1 - individuals, or client groups, that require this qualification or relative skill set to work within their current work environment o During the individual pre training review learners of this cohort would be advised that they will be required to complete the program over a period of 12 months as outlined in the duration and schedule below. Learner Cohort 2- current, experienced business practitioners required to upgrade their Qualification in order to continue to be vocationally competent, individuals that are experienced in administration/business and wish to have their skills and knowledge recognised and/or extended

6 o During the individual pre training review learners of this cohort would be advised that they will be required to complete the program over a period of up to 2-12 months as outlined in the duration and schedule below. o Participants are able to complete the program earlier due to credit transfer and their involvement in current work practices that could be recognised as prior learning. The final duration for these applicants will be agreed upon after their pre training review and RPL review) o If evidence of competency do not meet the rules of evidence and gap training is required the assessor will direct the participant to move into the learner cohort listed above dependant on outcome Maximum participant numbers Standard 1.3a & 1.3d Duration and Schedule For programs that are delivered in a training room based environment, numbers are capped at a maximum of 15 participants per trainer. With larger groups, these are split and allocated separate trainers. L. P. COMMUNICATIONS ensures participants receive the desired trainer support and are engaged in a training environment conductive to learning by having small to medium group sizes. The volume of learning for a Diploma of Business is 12 months. As a component of this, the amount of training provided during this program equates to approximately 620 hours, comprising of: Flexible delivery** 4 x 1 hour sessions per month (48 Hours) In addition to the above sessions: Approx. 48 hours structured one on one mentoring as required scheduled once a month from 10am- 2pm Approx. 520 hours structured private study /workplace practice 10 hours per week Approx. 300 hours assessment activities including completion of further one-on-one support and verification interviews **available for participants that are currently working in administration/business and have a workplace to use as a basis for their assessments. One on one training completed at in workplace/remote at mutual time. Note - Units to be delivered (generally as detailed in this TAS) however as recommended by trainer in line with pre-training review findings and/or per participant, other endorsed qualification units may be selected to meet learners workplace and individual needs. L P Communications will provide this service if it can provide a trainer that is qualified to train and assess in the selected units.

7 Site of Delivery Delivery This course will be delivered in the workplace. The programs are delivered in a training rooms at L P COMMUNICATIONS hired training rooms or onsite in an appropriate location within a client s workplace. The training room acts as a simulated environment that is drawn upon when undertaking learning activities and assessment tasks. All training is delivered by highly qualified and experienced trainers employed by L. P. COMMUNICATIONS. All sessions encourage the participants to be actively engaged in experiences supported by FODE Learning Management System (LMS) and /or learning supporting material relevant to business practice Training techniques employed include: discussions small group and individual activities practical role plays written learning activities research using internet and resource library modelling of practical elements development of workplace documents The above ensures formative assessments are taking place throughout the program and participants are given the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge over a period of time leading them to completing their formal, summative assessment tasks. Some practical demonstrations are undertaken within the allocated session times with observation of skills completed by trainer/assessor. Additional practical demonstrations will be observed by approved industry expert. Up to Ten hours of private study/ workplace practice should be undertaken by the participant per week. Participants work through further learning activities, complete extra reading and research. Trainers are contactable for support via , phone or assigned one-on-one meetings. Following the session scheduled throughout the program the participants are given ample time to consolidate the learning they have undertaken and if required additional assistance may be provided to complete the program.

8 Assessment The assessment process (including RPL) includes the gathering of evidence to demonstrate the candidate s competence. Summative evidence gathering methods include: Observation of practical assessments in simulated workplace situations Questioning (written or verbal) including research tasks, professional documents, case study responses, short answers, defining key terms and reflective pieces Candidates are made aware of the assessment requirements and learning outcomes at the commencement of each cluster and/or unit of competency via the assessment instructions (located in the assessment booklet) and in line with this training and assessment strategy. Assessments are of a holistic nature and learning is scaffolded via trainer led discussions, research and formative activities within text book and FODE LMS. This is undertaken before commencement of the summative assessments outlined in the assessment booklet. All assessment task can be contextualised to meet individual needs, with changes agreed by candidate and assessor to ensure consistency of assessments L. P. COMMUNICATIONS ensures that all practical assessments are undertaken in appropriate, suitable environments and are free from hazards. As this is a competency based program, assessment continues throughout the duration of the program until the candidate either achieves competency in the assessment tasks or a further training need is identified and addressed. Candidates receive ongoing formal and informal feedback throughout this process to ensure best possible outcomes. To be assessed as Competent (C) in the qualification or per cluster, candidates are required to successfully complete all assessment tasks. If they do not complete an assessment task or have not met requirements they will be assessed as Not Yet Satisfactory (NYS) for that assessment and overall Not Yet Competent (NYC) for the unit and/or cluster. Candidates will be given the opportunity to re-submit if deemed not yet satisfactory or not competent.

9 Once assessment checklists are completed by assessors, candidates are required to participate in an authentication interview with the assessor and sign off that all work is their own (to ensure authenticity) and that they have received the feedback. Feedback given by assessors is constructive, including any areas which need improvement. If a candidate wishes to appeal an assessment decision they need to discuss this with their trainer/assessor followed by the training manager, and finally the Director. If the appeal cannot be resolved, the Director will refer the candidate to the formal appeals process. Support Services Reasonable adjustments may be made to assessment tasks where candidates are unable to undertake the assessment as per the set requirements. This may be due to physical disabilities, mental illness, personal emergencies/issues etc. This needs be discussed with the trainer/assessor on a needs basis. Adjustments such as verbally responding to questions, alternative times of practical assessments etc. may be made. Reasonable adjustment cannot be given if the adjustment will compromise the integrity of the unit requirements e.g. a practical demonstration that needs to be given to a group cannot be explained in writing/verbally one-on-one. L. P. COMMUNICATIONS is committed to an assessment system that complies with principles of assessment and rules of evidence In accordance with the Standards for RTO s 2015, at a minimum, support should include Identifying what participants would need to complete the program e.g. LLN, physical abilities Developing strategies to make support available where gaps are identified L. P. COMMUNICATIONS offers the following support to participants LLN Support Based on the findings of the LLN assessment within the Pre- Training Review participants can meet with the training manager to discuss possible assistance. L.P. COMMUNICATIONS will make every reasonable effort to cater for participant s individual needs. However, the Diploma of

10 Business requires a high level of literacy and language practice and moderate level of numeracy ability Participants that require additional assistance with LLN can access information about LLN providers by calling the Reading and Writing Hotline on or refer to Costs associated with assistance deemed beyond L. P. COMMUNICATIONS provisions will be met by participant. Verbally interview participants to assist with demonstrating competency Ask participants to demonstrate their skills Allow participants to choose their seating arrangements Allow participants to bring family member/friend/carer to sign or to help read terminology or make notes (if this would be standard practice in their workplace) Provide training materials in a larger font Apply reasonable adjustment of assessment methods e.g. verbal when appropriate L.P. COMMUNICATIONS cannot offer: Training materials in a foreign language, braille or video/audio recording Provision of an interpreter to assist with language, sight, hearing or learning barriers (unless supplied by participant or referral agency) Additional training One-on-one support is available as a support mechanism. Trainers are available between 10am - 4pm, weekdays via mobile or . Trainers can also attend the participant s workplace via special arrangement. Reasonable adjustment Reasonable adjustment of assessment is possible to ensure individual needs are met. This is to be discussed with the assessor to maintain validity of the assessment in line with the learning outcomes. Additional support Equipment, resources and/or referral to programs to increase access for learners with disabilities and other learners in accordance with access and equity guidelines Referrals to relevant services for personal issues and financial hardship are available

11 Support Services Learning and assessment programs contextualised to the workplace as agreed by participant and trainer/assessor If applicable, L. P. COMMUNICATIONS may receive documentation from Vocational Advisors such as Collection and Release of Information or Authority to Disclose Information. This enables provision of extra support to our participants through communication with their Advisor and further insight into their individual needs. In accordance with the Standards for RTO s 2015, at a minimum, support should include Identifying what participants would need to complete the program e.g. LLN, physical abilities Developing strategies to make support available where gaps are identified L. P. COMMUNICATIONS offers the following support to participants LLN Support Based on the findings of the LLN assessment within the pretraining review participants can meet with the RTO manager to discuss possible assistance. L.P. COMMUNICATIONS will make every reasonable effort to cater for participant s individual needs. However, the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment requires a high level of literacy and sometimes those needs are beyond the assistance that we can provide. Participants that require additional assistance with LLN can access information about LLN providers by calling the Reading and Writing Hotline on or refer to Costs associated with assistance deemed beyond L. P. COMMUNICATIONS provisions will be met by participant. L. P. 12 Work Placements Provide training materials in a larger font and with more graphics or templates, if applicable Apply reasonable adjustment of assessment methods e.g. verbal when appropriate Allow sessions to be taped by participant (at the discretion of the group and at the cost of the participant) L. P. COMMUNICATIONS cannot offer: Training materials in a foreign language, braille or video/audio recording Provision of an interpreter to assist with language, sight, hearing or learning barriers (unless supplied by participant or referral agency) Additional training One-on-one assistance outside of the face-to-face contact hours is available as a support mechanism. Trainers are available between 9am - 7pm, 7 days a week via the office number, mobile number or . Trainers can also attend the participant s workplace via special arrangement. Reasonable adjustment Reasonable adjustment of assessment is possible to ensure individual needs are met. This is to be discussed with the training manager to maintain validity of the assessment in line with the learning outcomes. See assessment arrangements for further clarity. Additional support Equipment, resources and/or referral to programs to increase access for learners with disabilities and other learners in accordance with access and equity guidelines Referrals to relevant services for counselling, substance abuse, gambling, and financial hardship are available - as listed in participant handbook Learning and assessment programs contextualised to the workplace Any other services that the RTO considers necessary to support participants to achieve competency If applicable, L. P. COMMUNICATIONS receives documentation from Vocational Advisors (see learner cohorts) such as Collection and Release of Information or Authority to Disclose Information. This enables provision of extra support to our participants through communication with their advisor and further insight into their individual needs This program requires the participant to have access to a real business environment. It is a requirement of the participant to access their own work placement if they do not have access to a real business environment.

13 Training materials and resources Legislative Obligations Course Completion and issuance of statement of attainment or certificate The following learning resources are required for this qualification: L. P. COMMUNICATIONS materials o Workshop Participant and Assessment Notes distributed at each workshop o Access to the individuals workplace policies and procedures and business activities Participants will require access to the following resources to complete this qualification: - Computer o To engage with facilitator and assessor o To complete practical assessments - Internet connection - Access to a printer to print assessments There are numerous legislative initiatives that ensure participants have access to equal participation in training including the following: The Privacy Act 1988 Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 Industry legislation that may be involved in the delivery of this program: VET Quality Framework ASQA Guidelines Standards for Registered Training Organisations 2015 VET legislation (e.g. Standards for Accredited Courses) Award and enterprise agreements Industrial relations Occupational Health and Safety Equal opportunity Anti-discrimination and diversity Once the participant has been deemed competent in all units, they will be issued with BSB50215 Diploma of Business qualification and a Statement of Results for the units of competency achieved. If a participant is unable to competently complete all assessment activities for the qualification, they may be eligible for a Statement of Attainment for the units they have competently completed. This qualification is an Australian Qualification Framework course and Nationally Recognised Training from the BSB Business Services Training Package.

14 Complaints and appeals L. P. Communication s complaints and appeals Policy and Procedure informs all stakeholders of L. P. Communication s responsibilities and the stakeholder s rights to make a complaint or appeal. The policy is designed to respond to allegations involving the conduct of the RTO, its trainers, assessors or other staff; an approved third party providing services on the RTO s behalf, its trainers, assessors or other staff; or A participant of the RTO. It also allows for all stakeholders to appeal for review of decisions including assessment decisions made by L. P. Communication or approved third parties. Nature of Guarantee Refer to our Website L. P. COMMUNICATIONS is committed to ensure that once participants have commenced studying their chosen qualification or course, provided they continue to meet all of their participant responsibilities, they will be trained and assessed as per the training plan. In the event L. P. COMMUNICATIONS is unable to honour this commitment, it will facilitate the completion of the planned training by the participant with another RTO. If the participant does not wish to complete their training with another RTO, L. P. COMMUNICATIONS will provide a refund of any unused enrolment fees that the participant may be entitled to in accordance with the L. P. COMMUNICATIONS Training Fees and Refund Policy. L. P. COMMUNICATIONS will also issue a Statement of Attainment for any units successfully completed by the participant.
