1 JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: STATUS: Regional Fundraising Co-ordinator (maternity cover) Full-Time fixed term contract for 6 months 9:00am 5:30pm HOURS: 37.5 hours per week (JDRF operates a flexible working hours policy) SALARY: 21,450 pro rata per annum inclusive HOLIDAY: LOCATION: REPORTS TO: 25 days Aberdeen, Scotland Development Manager (Scotland) DIRECT REPORTS: N/A KEY INTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS: KEY EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS: Head of Regional Fundraising, Development Manager (Scotland), Senior Fundraisers, Fundraiser & Volunteers Corporate partners, JDRF supporters, volunteers. JDRF is the type 1 diabetes charity, improving lives until we find the cure. We fund research to cure, treat and prevent type 1 diabetes. We also provide information for children and adults living with the condition at all stages, from diagnosis and beyond. We give a voice to

2 people with type 1 diabetes and campaign for increased focus on, and funding for, research to find the cure. DEPARTMENT The Scotland team consists of four staff who organise and support a whole host of fundraising events and activities across Aberdeen and Central Scotland. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE To maintain and take responsibility of office administrative systems including shared files, the database and financial procedures, the role will also have responsibility for all aspects of the day-to-day administrative operation within the office including banking. To assist the Scotland fundraising team with the implementation of the region s fundraising events in order to achieve income budgets and targets, expenditure budgets and operational plans. To assist the fundraising team in raising awareness of JDRF and type 1 diabetes in the region and helping to implement JDRF s outreach strategy. To support groups & individuals in the area whose primary remit is fundraising. KEY TASKS To assist the team with the organisation and implementation of the region s events. To assist the team with the support of donors activities in Scotland related to the organisation s major events programme inc One Walks (Aberdeen & Central) and the Gala Ball in both Aberdeen and Edinburgh. To work with the team to support and facilitate existing regional donors (corporate and non-corporate) with the aim of retaining and broadening their fundraising support To support and facilitate the region s volunteers and volunteer groups to increase third party income, raise awareness of JDRF and type 1 diabetes and to identify and develop other community based income sources To work with the Team to develop and support relationships with key community groups including: Rotaries, Round Tables, Schools, Universities etc.

3 To assist the team with the implementation of outreach work in the region including: Type 1 Discovery Days and KIDSAC promotion To undertake research in the region in order to develop knowledge or build a business case for a new fundraising project Provide administrative support in the region such as: financial administration, office administration (including stock control) and data entry Perform any other duties as may be required

4 PERSON SPECIFICATION Criteria Essential Desirable Experience: Fundraising, events, marketing Event co-ordination or sales experience Experience of working with Experience of working as part of a team the corporate community to fundraise Experience of working to budgets and plans Experience of working with volunteers Skills: Excellent organisational skills Excellent communication Ability to work independently and presentation skills and under own initiative and as part of a team Experience of recognised database software Ability to prioritise workload, manage time and meet targets and deadlines Excellent administrative and financial skills Excellent research skills and attention to detail Working knowledge of MS Office Full driving licence & a car Personality: Outgoing, confident, friendly, positive and professional Skilled at developing relationships at all levels Persistent and resilient Innovative and creative Meticulous and thorough Education: A level or equivalent qualifications or experience. Degree level or equivalent qualification Member of the Institute of Fundraising Other: Flexibility and willingness to work some unsociable hours Knowledge of diabetes, diabetes research and JDRF. Willingness to travel in and around region and to head office in London (if required) Knowledge of region
