3 Standard 3: Students acquire and use personal skills to become successful, productive citizens (employees). that cooperation skills will aid in positive, productive communication with others to accomplish a goal/task. that there is value to operating a safe and productive work environment. that developing and maintaining a positive, productive work ethic (such as punctuality, ready to work, time on task) helps to acquire and retain employment. use personal safety equipment and procedures as required. identify and resolve safety hazards related to basic hand tools. demonstrate initiative, responsibility, and shared workload daily. demonstrate time on task, punctuality, and selfmanagement daily. demonstrate good, positive, productive work ethic. practice good communication techniques to accomplish an assigned task.

That basic technical skills and procedures required for an occupation in the auto industry. that selecting the appropriate tools, equipment, and resources for completing a task to industry standards is essential. identify common tools and parts used in the automotive industry. correctly identify and use personal protective equipment. select the proper tools for a given automotive task. interpret written and verbal communication to complete assigned tasks. correctly demonstrate the use of maintenance strategies.

5 Standard 5: Students know and demonstrate the requirements of the workplace through authentic application related to the automotive environment. that applying and demonstrating science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematical concepts are essential to automotive concepts. that all forms of communication are essential to the automotive industry. that using proper communication techniques will facilitate productive relationships with employers, employees, and customers and service providers. identify common tools and their parts used in the automotive industry. properly document repair procedures. evaluate completed tasks and state plans for improved efficiency.
