1 STAFF SELECTION COMMISSION (ER), KOLKATA NOTICE FOR INTERVIEW FOR RECRUITMENT TO THE POST OF JUNIOR TRANSLATOR FOR OFFICE OF NATIONAL SAMPLE SURVEY ORGANISATION, MINISTRY OF STATISTICS & PROGRAMME IMPLEMENTATION, KOLKATA. Interview of additional common candidates for recruitment to the Selection Post of Junior Translator, Group B for National Sample Survey Organization, Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation, Kolkata, advertised vide category No.ER-03 of Advertisement No.ER-03/2010 will be held on 28 th December, 2012 at Kolkata. Brief particulars of the Post and Interview Schedules are given below. Essential Qualification Age Limit : Degree of a recognised University with Hindi Medium and with General English as one of the elective subjects at Degree Level Or, Degree of a recognised University with English medium and with General Hindi as one of the elective subjects at Degree Level. : Between 21 and 30 years as on closing date viz (Age relaxation is relaxable as per instructions). Date of Interview : 28 th December, Reporting Time : 8.30 A.M. / A.M. Venue : STAFF SELECTION COMMISSION (ER) Nizam Palace, 1 st MSO Building (8 th Floor), 234/4, Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose Road, Kolkata Candidates have been short-listed on the basis of short-listing criteria fixed by the Commission at 25% or above marks in the Common Skill Test held on Interview call letters have been sent to all eligible short-listed candidates. 3. Candidates who do not receive interview call letters, may print a copy of the proforma call letter from this Notice and appear for the interview along with all original documents in support of essential qualifications, category (SC/ST/OH/ExS/CGCE/Dept.) age limit, experience, extra curricular activities, five copies of recent passport size photographs and downloaded call letters amongst others. Such candidates shall be allowed to appear for the interview only after establishing their identity from the original documents produced by them. 4. Candidates are advised to follow the instructions given in the interview call letter and satisfy themselves before proceeding for interview that they fulfill all conditions of eligibility as laid down in the Advertisement Notice published in the Employment News/Rozgar Samachar dated September, 2010, with particular reference to the Essential Qualifications, and Age Limit of 21 and 30 years (Age relaxation is admissible as per Instruction) as on closing date viz ] to save themselves from disappointment/ disqualification at subsequent stages. If on mandatory scrutiny on or before interview, a candidate is found not fulfilling any of the conditions of eligibility, he/she shall not be allowed to appear for the interview and his/her candidature shall be cancelled forthwith. Finding of ineligibility subsequent to the interview, and before or after declaration of result will also entail cancellation of his / her candidature. 5 List of Short-listed candidates called for interview, and Proforma of Interview Call letter are given below.

No.ER-03/2010 With reference to your candidature for the post mentioned above, I am to inform you that you have been found provisionally eligible for being called for interview/personality test. You are, accordingly, requested to present yourself for the interview/personality test as per following programme: Interview Date : Reporting Time : 8:30 A.M. / A.M. Venue : STAFF SELECTION COMMISSION (Eastern Region) Nizam Palace, 1 st MSO Building (8 th Floor), 234/4, Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose Road, Kolkata You shall ensure yourself that you fulfil all conditions of eligibility with particular reference to the Essential Qualifications, and the Age Limit as prescribed for the above mentioned post in the Notice of the Examination/Recruitment and published in the Employment News/Rozgar Samachar dated September, 2010 viz. Degree of a recognised University with Hindi Medium and with General English as one of the elective subjects at Degree Level Or, Degree of a recognised University with English medium and with General Hindi as one of the elective subjects at Degree Level, and the age limit of between 21 and 30 years as on closing date viz (Age relaxation is relaxable as per instructions). 3. You are also required to submit a certificate from competent authority of the concerned university / autonomous college as proof of % of marks obtained at the prescribed EQ (i), in case % of marks is not given in the relevant marksheet / certificate, failing which you shall not be allowed to appear at the interview, and your candidature for the captioned recruitment shall be cancelled forthwith. If, on actual verification from original documents you are found not fulfilling any of these criteria, you shall not be allowed to attend the interview, and your candidature shall be forthwith cancelled. Finding of ineligibility subsequent to the interview, and before or after declaration of result will also entail cancellation of your candidature.

For educational qualification(s) acquired through distance mode, it must be ensured that such qualification(s) has the approval of Distance Education Council, New Delhi for the relevant period viz. the period during which the qualification(s) were acquired, otherwise admission to interview shall not be allowed, and your candidature for the post in question shall be liable to be rejected at any stage, even after final selection / nomination to the post. 5. You should bring this Call Letter (in original) along with the following documents, in original, and also the copies (BOTH SIDES) thereof, duly attested by a Gazetted Officer, for verification and record respectively: i) Matriculation / equivalent certificate, issued by the State/Central Education Board and not by the Principal/Headmaster of the School/Institution where studied, showing your date of birth (in Christian Era). Note:- Admit Card of Matriculation Examination/School Leaving Certificate etc. will not be accepted as proof of age. ii) All other certificates in support of your educational/technical/professional qualifications and subjects studied at various levels; and mark sheets pertaining to all the years of each course indicating the subjects studied in each year, as claimed in your application or the bio-data sheet. iii) Certificates in support of claim regarding experience, if any, indicating the nature of duties performed and the functions of the organization where such experience was gained. iv) Certificates/documents (issued by the Competent Authorities and in the format as prescribed in the Notice of Examinations in support of your claim of being SC/ST/OBC/Ex-serviceman/Physically Handicapped (wherever applicable). v) Complete Discharge Certificate in support of your claim of being in Ex-serviceman Category (if applicable). vi) Certificate from the Department (in case you are a CGCE /Departmental candidate) in support of your claim that you have completed three years regular service on the prescribed date and also the Departmental endorsement/certificate with particulars, duly verified by your office. In case age relaxation has also been sought or claimed, a No Objection Certificate from your employer, should also be produced without fail. vii) In case you are disabled Defence/BSF personnel, necessary Disability Certificate from the Competent Authority. viii) Certificates in support of your claim regarding participation in extra-curricular activities/ games/ sports, etc. ix) The enclosed Bio-data sheet along with 3 copies, duly filled in, with recent Passport size photograph affixed and signed by you. x) Three identical passport size photographs, in addition. xi) Photo identity proof viz. PAN Card, Voter ID, Driving Licence, Identity Card issued by Central Govt./State Govt./University/College etc. in original. 6. If you do not produce any of the above mentioned documents in original (along with their attested copies) which are required for determining eligibility for the interview in question, except the documents mentioned against column No. viii, you will not be admitted for the interview under any circumstances whatsoever and no further opportunity will be accorded to take the interview. However, the documents against No. viii are required to be produced in support of your claim mentioned therein, failing which your claim will not be taken into account. 7. Eligible SC/ST candidates attending the interview will be reimbursed to and fro 2nd Class Railway fare or bus fare chargeable by the shortest route, provided that the fare of the first 30 kms. in both cases, is borne by the candidate. No extra charges, if any, incurred for reserving seats, sleeping berths in the train, will, however, be reimbursed to the candidate. The candidate must furnish details like distance on travelling, mode of travel, ticket number, actual fare paid by the candidate etc. SC/ST candidate in service and under the Central/State Government, Corporation, Public Sector Undertakings, local Government institutions/panchayat will not, however, be eligible for reimbursement.

5 8. Any change in your present postal address should be communicated to this office at once showing your Roll No., name of the examination and the post applied for and the changed address. 9. You have the option to converse either in English or Hindi in the interview. The interview/personality test is structured in such a manner that the candidates interests, knowledge, various traits, aptitude, suitability etc. are probed, among other things, through academic qualifications, extra-curricular activities, general awareness / knowledge, depth of knowledge of the subject studied at the aforesaid prescribed E.Q., communicative skill and personality etc. 10. Your candidature is Provisional. You must, therefore, ensure that you fulfil all the conditions of eligibility laid down in the advertisement/notice of the Examination. If at any stage it is found that you do not fulfil any of the conditions of eligibility, your candidature will be cancelled and no appeal against such cancellation will be entertained. The fact that you have been called for interview does not confer any right to be treated as eligible in all aspects for appointment or to be considered for interview. To avoid any disappointment at a later stage, you are advised to recheck whether you meet all the eligibility criteria laid down on the crucial date prescribed for the post/examination in question. 11. Please note that date, time and venue of interview is final and no request for change will be entertained. In case you fail to attend the interview, it will be presumed that you are not interested in the post and your candidature will be treated as cancelled. No further correspondence will be entertained in this regard. 12. The Commission will not be responsible for late/non receipt of this letter due to delay in postal transit. 13.
