Background The Alberta Motor Vehicle Industry Council (AMVIC) is a not-for-profit society whose objectives include the establishment, maintenance and administration of policies and programs to enhance a fair and informed marketplace in the motor vehicle industry in Alberta. The organizational structure policy is designed to give the AMVIC Board of Directors and AMVIC management the ability to maximize the operational effectiveness of AMVIC to fulfil its mandate. 2. Organizational Structure The AMVIC organizational structure for the purpose of this policy is as follows: 1. Board of Directors a. Executive Committee 2. CEO a. Managers i. Other Staff b. Executive Assistant, Secretary to the Board and Policy Coordinator i. Other Staff 3. Authorities 1. The Executive Committee of the Board of Directors will approve the following: a. Changes to the Position Description of the CEO. b. Changes to the organizational structure of the managers and Executive Assistant, Secretary to the Board and Policy Coordinator, all of whom report directly to the CEO. 2. The CEO will approve changes to the following: a. Position Descriptions of the following positions: i. Managers, ii. Executive Assistant, Secretary to the Board and Policy Coordinator iii. Other staff. b. The organizational structure of other staff reporting to the managers and Executive Assistant, Secretary to the Board and Policy Coordinator. June 20, 2017 Page 3

5 4. Responsibilities Responsibilities are as follows: 1. The Executive Committee of the Board of Directors will: a. Maintain and approve changes to the position description of the CEO. b. Approve changes to the Organizational Structure contained in Appendix 1 of this policy. 2. The CEO will: a. Maintain and approve changes to the position descriptions of the following: i. Managers ii. Executive Assistant, Secretary to the Board and Policy Coordinator iii. Other Staff. b. Approve changes to the organizational structure of other staff. c. Maintain an organization chart for the entire organization. 5. Pay Schedules Government of Alberta pay schedules are used as guidelines for compensation. June 20, 2017 Page 4
