2 General Worker/Operator The General Worker/Operator performs housekeeping tasks, meeting organisational requirements to ensure work space efficiency and effectiveness. He/she takes instructions from his section lead and performs all general duties as required. 3 Store Assistant The Store Assistant updates stock levels in the inventory data system. He/she is aware of the importance of inventory control and maintains adequate stock levels to avoid overstocking and obsolescence/aged lots. He is conversant with the store layout and rotates stock in accordance with organisational guidelines to avoid wastage. The Store Assistant also ensures that the handling and storage of stock meet the required standards. The Store Assistant ensures all areas of the stores are clean and tidy at all times. 4 Process Technician (Engine Build/Machining/ Control/Non-Destructive Testing (Level 1)) The Process Technician is required to perform the required manufacturing processes depending on the job function he/she is assigned to. Engine Build: He performs assembly, inspection and testing of new engine in accordance with relevant technical manuals and quality standards. He also keeps abreast of latest developments of related systems by updating himself through relevant manuals and other publications. Machining: He operates machines to produce precision parts that requires basic knowledge and ability to set up and maintain machine tools; uses hand tools including digital measurement instruments; reads and interprets technical drawings and blueprints; performs basic housekeeping and carries out his duties in compliance with workplace safety and health requirements. Control: He is authorised by the organisation to perform inspection on parts received from suppliers to ensure conformity to specifications. He is required to perform process control by using inspection equipment such as the Coordinate Measuring Machine for accurate inspection checks and manual gages, and register non-conformity as required. Non-Destructive Testing (Level 1): He maintains all non-destructive test equipment at their required functionality and performs the tests specified in the works instructions under supervision. He determines the acceptance of parts and components for surface condition in preparation for the non-destructive testing (NDT) and conducts the appropriate tests, document and also interpret the results obtained. 6 Planning Assistant The Planning Assistant prepares purchase orders for outsourced repair works and procurement, and checks the accuracy of invoices received in consultation with the purchasing departments. He/she submits warranty claims to Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEMs) and resolves disputes by consulting various departments as required. The Planning Assistant also performs continuous process improvement and participates in problem-solving with internal departments in the organisation. 7 Process Specialist/Team Leader (Engine Build/Machining/ Control/ Non-Destructive Testing (Level 2)) The Process Specialist/Team Leader supervises a team of technicians to support the manufacturing processes which may include engine build, machining, quality control and non-destructive testing (Level 2). He/she is also required to investigate process failure and propose appropriate remedial actions. He supervises the assembly, inspection and testing of new engine in accordance with relevant technical manuals and quality standards. He also ensures the conformity of work processes and adheres to the relevant manuals and other publications. He is responsible for operating machines to produce precision parts that require knowledge and ability to set up and maintain machine tools; use hand tools, including digital measurement instruments; reads and interprets technical drawings and blueprints; performs basic housekeeping; carries out his duties in compliance with workplace safety and health requirements. He is also required to perform trouble-shooting and fault diagnosis, and maintenance of machines. He is certified by company to carry out visual inspection of all deliveries in accordance with stipulated inspection procedures to ensure compliance to the purchase and manufacturing requirements, conduct audits to ensure that all work done on systems and components are in accordance to Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and organisation s prescribed procedures and standards. He performs visual inspection and non-destructive testing (NDT) of welds, forgings, casting and machined parts in accordance with company procedures, customer requirements and other contractual documents and maintains accurate records of all inspection activities. He ensures that all NDT is carried out in accordance with quality standards as stated in respective manuals and also ensures compliance with the environmental and health safety standards. 9 Planning Supervisor The Planning Supervisor prepares sub-contract requisitions for outsourced repair works, processes and monitors repairs and warranties, and generates bill of materials. He/she plans the manufacturing process and executes the manufacturing orders. He also schedules and conducts regular reviews with key vendor/sub-contractors. The Planning Supervisor also performs continuous process improvement and participates in problem-solving with other departments within the organisation. 10 Manufacturing Engineer/Production Engineer The Manufacturing Engineer/Production Engineer plans the manufacturing process sequence and prepares detailed operation sheets throughout the manufacturing cycle, from receipt of materials to parts shipment using specification sheets. He/she is conversant with tools and fixtures design and CNC programming, and establishes setup or assembly procedures and proper documentation control. He also performs tolerance studies, and analysis to ensure that safety, quality, delivery and productivity goals are fulfilled. He conducts productivity improvement activities including equipment or fixture selection, design and deployment, and monitors and improves production cost and cycle time. The Manufacturing Engineer/Production Engineer is also required to identify and suggest process improvements, guide new Process Technicians in their daily operations, and assist in the supervision of Process Technicians to meet production targets and product quality standards. 12 Engineer (NDT Level 3) The Engineer (NDT Level 3) ensures that the organisational non-destructive testing (NDT) inspection systems meet regulatory requirements and all NDT inspections comply with EN 4179/NAS 410/NADCAP/OEM as appropriate. He/she performs NDT on products, monitors results of NDT for trends and corrective actions, and conducts quality audits to ensure compliance to Engineering Standards Manual and NDT requirements. The NDT (Level 3) Engineer conducts relevant training to NDT personnel in the organisation to maintain knowledge currency. He/she conducts internal or external quality and EHS audits and investigates work-induced defects. He performs root cause and corrective action analysis and ensures preventive actions are implemented. The Engineer manages the organisation s technical publications and documentation control and ensures updates to airworthiness directives are disseminated to the workshops. He oversees the visual inspection of all deliveries in accordance with stipulated inspection procedures to ensure compliance with the purchase and manufacturing requirements. He also ensures follow up on non-conformance. The Engineer reviews and approves work instructions and standard operating procedures, provides guidance, training and coaching to Inspectors, and conducts airworthiness-related training when required. 15 Planning Executive The Planning Executive establishes weekly production schedules including releasing work orders and ensuring on-time delivery of shipments based on customer requirements. He/she also monitors and coordinates timely arrival of spares to meet flowchart targets by engaging engineers and technicians to ensure adherence to timeline. He liaises with customers, workshops and production departments for all material planning matters. He also carries out planning, provisioning and ordering of all spares and consumables, sourcing of vendors, developing supplier capabilities and conducting contract negotiation to support the organisation s manufacturing activities. 20 Senior Engineer The Senior Engineer develops the organisation quality system and manages internal or external supplier audits and certification. He/she takes part in quality investigation, impact analysis and first article inspection processes, and oversees the technical library, ensuring that the Maintenance Organisation Exposition, Management System, Safety Management System and Training Manuals are updated. The Senior Engineer sanctions alternative processes and tooling, leads the implementation of new inspection technologies to achieve process, reliability and productivity improvements, and is responsible for the training of new hires and ensuring that individual proficiency levels are maintained. He drives continuous improvement through the use of process improvement tools. The Senior Engineer may also be authorised by the company in accordance with procedure acceptable to the Authority to certify aircraft components for release to service.
