3 Overview: Capita in Health Capita understands the challenges and culture of the NHS. We have 3,000 staff working in health and we have worked with 95% of NHS organisations at every level, from NHS England through to specific commissioners and in all disciplines, including mental health, specialised commissioning and learning disabilities. In health we cover the full range of services, including transformational change, health informatics & knowledge services, IT, HR and estates & property services, the direct provision of clinical assessments and interventions, clinical administrative services and patient contact services. In addition, for commissioners we provide healthcare procurement & provider management, business intelligence & commissioning planning, service redesign, organisational redesign, and communications and patient engagement. Capita has 30 years experience in transferring services safely and securely. Our specialist transition team has seamlessly delivered complex transition programmes, including first generation transition from the customer and second generation transition from an incumbent supplier. We also bring experience of successful transformational change and cutting-edge innovation in health. As well as our experience in health, Capita also works with 98% of local authorities. This makes us uniquely positioned to facilitate integrated working between health organisations and local government.

4 Capita and commissioning support Capita has a comprehensive offering that covers all aspects of an end-to-end service. We bring a unique blend of scale to achieve value in transactional processes, high levels of innovation from our supply chain and from within Capita, and a proven track record of transformational change across the public sector. What allows us to do this? 1. Scale and reach With almost 70,000 staff, we serve over 20,000 customers many of them in the NHS and local government. We have a footprint in most cities in England and over 325 locations across the UK this allows us to deliver a local solution. 2. Platforms We have established and mature scale platforms to help us provide seamless delivery: HR and payroll services processing 17bn payments including an NHS Shared Service Centre providing services for 55,000 NHS employees IT services for 3,850 customers supporting 1 million users and 3,300 applications The Integra Finance system and national NHS dental payments service Customer contact management capability that delivers 160 million contacts a year Running the Oracle platform used by NHS SBS Typically we would expect to deliver 10%- 30% efficiency savings for business support services. This is borne out by the outcomes to date from our NHS HR and payroll shared service which include a 17% reduction in operating costs, introduction of paperless working and average recruitment time reduced by 30 days.

5 3. Products We and our partner organisations have a suite of market leading products. This is particularly the case with our Business Intelligence products that include market leading provider comparative benchmarking software from CHKS, Horizon (formerly StratComm) and commissioning tools. We can support commissioners with whole systems demand & capacity modelling, risk stratification, clinical workflow and decision support tools proven at scale in the NHS and internationally in the US, Europe and South America. Our experience at scale includes deploying commissioning support tools across a population of 5 million people in NHS South Central with a payment mechanism linked to success in identifying savings opportunities of 200m a year. CHKS work with 70% of NHS Acute Trusts. Our clinical triage software supported NHS Direct and NHS24 and is widely used around the world. 4. Services Capita provides a full range of services. This includes healthcare procurement, support for whole systems transformation and service re-design, advisory services for CCGs, and marketing and communications services. Our services have delivered improvements to quality and reduced costs. For example, we supported commissioners in NHS Ashton Leigh & Wigan in achieving savings of 14.5m through re-designing and transforming services (stroke, diabetes, ENT, breathlessness and rheumatology), improving the impact of existing case management services and introducing new services such as Hospital at Home and GP-led A&E triage. Combining our local government transformation experience with CCGs capabilities, and local relationships, offers further opportunities for innovation to manage demand and improve local health outcomes. Particular examples include co-design of patient care co-ordination and technology enabled self-management services.
