For more information, visit: naturebridge.org Summary The Camp Director and Family Programs Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing NatureBridge s public programs including camp and family programs. This person provides support and vision for program content and curriculum, collaborates in the marketing of programs, and manages public program staff. Additional responsibilities include developing hands-on, environmental education themed camp & family programs, serving as a key contact for family program participants, and interacting frequently with the public to provide information. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Vision & leadership Oversee development and delivery of Naturebridge s public programs: Coastal Camp and family programs. Support ongoing refinement of programming through staff assessment, participant surveys, and staff evaluations. Actively participate in GOGA s Education Committee and Education team. Programmatic & Curriculum Development Set innovative and differentiated curricular agenda for public programs, including developing mission driven programs, age appropriate thematic strands, and exciting hands on activities. Leads the development of year-round program offerings for Camp & Family Programs. Enhances programs by observing activities and providing feedback to education staff. Establishes and adjusts program outlines and objectives by following and developing curriculum guidelines and content. Collaborates in the marketing of programs with the National Marketing Manager.

2 Develops events in EventBrite to sell tickets for family programs. Internal and External Partnerships Work in partnership with NPS educational and interpretive staff and Park Partner community within the GGNRA. Collaborate with Golden Gate s education department to integrate programs and create a program pipeline serving family, children, and youth. Collaborate with National Marketing Manager to support the development of public programs marketing tools and visual identity. Collaborate with Operations Team, including conference, facilities, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations. Lead the ongoing development and strengthening of partnerships with community organizations and seek opportunities to develop new ones. Represent public programs department at Board meetings, development events, and within community at public events. Operations, Logistics, Supervision, and Support Helps keep camp & family programs registration database current by entering data in EventBrite and Active Network Camp and Class Manager. Provides administrative support, including responding to phone inquiries, sending and receiving mail, , and faxes, assembling printed materials, filing, copying, and ordering supplies. Directly supervise Camp Manager, Camp Admininstrative Assistant, and Camp Mentor Teacher. Lead the hiring, training, and evaluation of seasonal camp staff. Oversees public programs individual online registration websites and database systems. Create and manage an annual program budget. Reconcile the education petty cash box. Administer individual & group scholarships, including establishing partnerships with local community-based organizations. Serve on the Golden Gate Housing Committee to assign housing for summer staff and collaborate with other committee members to ensure compliance with all NatureBridge and GGNRA policies. Ensures smooth operations of camp & family programs by serving as primary resource for participants, campers, parents, and staff. Creates and provides a welcoming and safe atmosphere for staff, families, and visitors. Runs the operations and programming of camp & family programs and is equally comfortable in front of children and parents. Coordinate and lead public programs scheduled once or twice a month on Saturdays. Ensures adequate staff coverage by creating and adjusting weekly schedules of educators and counselors. Enhances staff skills by preparing and facilitating camp staff training sessions and conveys information by leading weekly staff meetings. Evaluates success of camp & family program operational procedures verbally and in writing at end of each program season with the Director of Education.

3 Represents and promotes NatureBridge programs at community fairs and open house events. Marketing & Promotion Works to ensure success of Public Programs by actively promoting programming in the community and seeking new opportunities and forums for outreach. Develops content for Camp & Family Program s promotion s and print materials. Lists programs on web based community calendars, forums, blogs, and through social networks. Performs other duties as assigned. Experience, Competencies and Education To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Qualifications include: Bachelor s degree and two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. At least four years experience developing and managing children and family programs in non traditional experiential educational environment (experience launching new ventures a plus). Experience developing curricula, leading trainings, and evaluating programmatic success. Excellent customer service, communication, interpersonal, multi-tasking, time management, and organizational skills. Experience working within the educational framework and operational structure of an existing organization, or willingness to do so. Sophisticated understanding of the learner at different ages, of group identity development, and of thematic teaching. Practical experience and demonstrated success in sales, marketing, customer service, and problem-solving. Demonstrated ability to manage large budgets and communicate regular financial updates to decision-making bodies. Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple tasks and timelines in a team setting. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to build and sustain a high energy environment for staff, children, and families. Strong leadership, supervisory, and mentoring skills. An independent thinker and a team-player: innovative, willing to try new things, flexible. Working knowledge (or quick study of) the natural and cultural history of the California Coast. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, database software, internet and experience is required. Wilderness First Responder and CPR certification or willingness to obtain certification before beginning employment. Valid California drivers license.

Supervisory Responsibilities Camp Manager Camp Mentor Teacher/s Camp Administrator Camp Education staff Working Conditions This job operates both in a professional office environment and in an outdoor setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Working Saturdays up to twice a month is required. Language Skills This job requires the ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business/non-profit community, to write speeches and articles for publication that conforms to prescribed style and format and the ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
