Our range of supports and services are designed in partnership with clients and around their needs ABOUT THE ROLE This is a management role within the Functional Family Therapy Child Welfare (FFT CW) team located in Fairfield/Cabramatta. It is responsible for the day to day management, coordination, and leadership of the team delivering the FFT CW model to families, where there is risk of abuse and neglect of a child 0-17 years, and who are at high risk of further escalation in the child protection system and entry into Out of Home Care (OOHC). ROLE OBJECTIVES You ll play a key management role as a member of the FFT CW Team located at Fairfield/Cabramatta and the wider South West Sydney leadership team. You will be a highly relational leader with strong practice experience who is able to grow and hold a team during times of crises and maintain the core practices of the FFT CW model. Define the priorities and appropriate outcomes for the FFT CW team and your specific areas of accountability. You will work the Therapeutic Coordinator FFT CW to ensure that the program reaches and maintains full implementation and program fidelity. You will work in close partnership with Family and Community Services staff to develop and maintain highly responsive referral pathways and systems to ensure that the Therapeutic Practitioners receive timely and appropriate referrals. 2 Work in support of other Uniting functions and teams to foster coordination across the organisation, avoiding duplication, standardising on efficient processes and delivering continuous improvement. ABOUT YOU IN THE ROLE Your classification: 55 Your directorate: Resilient Families You ll report to: Your direct reports: Head of South West Sydney and Illawarra 1 Therapeutic Coordinator 1 Administration Officer Your key relationships: Internal: FFT-CW Therapeutic Coordinator who has responsibility for the practice management of the FFT CW Therapeutic Practitioners and fidelity to the practice model FFT-CW Therapeutic Practitioners External: NSW Family and Community Services staff FFT CW developers: New York Foundling and the local intermediary Families within the FFT-CW Program YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES Financial management: Budget developed on time reflecting the program structure, operational needs, and the obligations of the contract, ensuring the sustainability of the program. Ensure that all activities and operations within the scope of responsibility are performed in accordance with the allocated budget and policy guidelines while achieving objectives by establishing business plans, budgets, allocating resources, reviewing progress and adjusting course of action as required. Manage functional/team expenditure in accordance with agreed plans, timelines and executive expectations, allowing Practitioners to meet treatment plan goals. Operational processes Implement Uniting policies, processes, systems and platforms (including technology) so as to ensure efficiency of the wider organisation. Provide supervision to the Therapeutic Coordinator, and support them in the supervision of the Therapeutic Practitioners. Ensure timely training, instruction, information and equipment necessary for staff in your area of responsibility, to perform duties in a safe, effective and efficient manner. Maintain awareness of and fulfill responsibilities, authorities and accountabilities as defined by Uniting s health, safety and wellbeing management system and in adherence to the attached WHS responsibilities by role. Prepare relevant program work plans and reports against achievements required by the Funding body and Model Intermediaries in a timely manner. Participate and comply with all quality management systems and processes. Maintain and ensure program specific policies and operating manuals, service provision guidelines are accurate, up to date and that your staff are familiar with these. 3 Ensure all data entry and reports are entered into the appropriate databases including requirements of FACS, Uniting and FFT-CW on time and accurately. Ensure a culturally appropriate service is delivered to all families and that staff are trained and resourced to integrate a cultural lens into their practice. Provide regular feedback and reporting on the progress of the FFT CW program to Uniting management, FACS and the intermediaries and work with all stakeholders to develop and implement solutions to any barriers to full implementation of the model Client management: Manage the FFT CW referral and intake system to ensure timely and appropriate referrals from NSW Family and Community Services. Operate and maintain the intake system and approvals for discharge from the program. Manage tracking and data base systems of outcomes of referrals with the FFT CW program. Manage the program response to escalation of risk and crises situations. Ensure the program takes necessary action to mitigate risk to children and increase their overall safety and wellbeing. Ensure that engagement with external parties enhances Uniting s reputation and growth. Maintain a high standard of conduct and work performance to promote our reputation with key internal and external stakeholders. After consultation, you ll be willing to undertake additional duties, transfer to another equivalent position or assume higher duties when required. People management: Act as a constructive member of the FFT CW and SWS leadership team. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS Financial management: Performance is monitored on an ongoing basis and financial targets achieved as established by the annual budget process. Brokerage is monitored on an ongoing basis and managed to meet all family s needs. Operational processes: All stakeholders are constantly communicated with and remain informed and involved in appropriate aspects and projects of the performance of your team or area. Client management: Complete the Pre Assessment within 24 hours of referral and the first scheduled session within 48 hours of referral. Client feedback shows sustained improvement. Client feedback indicates their respect for services (work) provided and a good working relationship with you and your team. Effective client relationships are in place and stakeholders indicate high levels of satisfaction with service delivery. People management: Feedback from your line Manager confirms your effectiveness as a people manager and your positive contribution as a member of the SWS and FFT CW teams. Feedback from colleagues and their teams confirms your contribution to an integrated Uniting. Safety reports confirm WHS as a priority and effective management/reduction of incidents is evidenced. Standards of professional behaviour demonstrate alignment with the Uniting values and are effectively role modeled in all workforce interactions. Staff engagement survey indicates high level of engagement from the team and endorses your role as manager. Formal annual performance reviews are conducted against agreed KPI s for all direct reports and position descriptions are reviewed and updated annually. THE IMPORTANT DETAILS Qualifications: Degree in Social work or Psychology or a related Bachelor degree Your experience ticks the following boxes: At least 5 years relevant sector experience with a minimum of two years management/supervisor experience. Demonstrated ability to implement evidence based models with fidelity, using the principles of Implementation Science and maintaining accurate data to support ongoing evaluation. Demonstrated experience in the development, delivery, evaluation and management of integrated and complex multidisciplinary services for disadvantaged people and communities. Demonstrated understanding of child protection issues with the capacity to identify risk levels and plan support interventions accordingly. 5 Demonstrated understanding of child protection legislation and mandatory reporting requirements. Demonstrated ability to provide leadership, manage people and develop and maintain professional and effective work team/s. Demonstrated knowledge of the needs of children, young people and families who have experienced multiple and complex disadvantage and effective services responses/models. Understanding and respect for the experiences of Aboriginal people and the historical context of current struggles. Sound knowledge of the needs of aboriginal communities, migrants, refugees and CALD communities and demonstrated ability to deliver and evaluate services in a culturally competent manner. Proven financial management skills. Proven ability to obtain funding and develop, deliver, monitor and evaluate services. Demonstrated experience in establishing strategic partnerships, growing new initiatives and achieving common desired outcomes with relevant communities and organisations. Superior analytical skills and the ability to integrate theory and practice Excellent written, verbal communication and conflict resolution skills. A current drivers licence A demonstrated passion for social change and contributing to an organisation of influence for the most disadvantaged. Skilled at navigating a complex organisation, forging relationships, and managing through influence rather than direct authority as required.
