1 JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION/TITLE: CNC Machinist 1 SHIFT: As assigned DEPARTMENT: Production REVISION DATE: 1/1/2016 FLSA STATUS: Hourly paid (Non-exempt) REPORTS TO: Production Supervisor - Machining POSITION SUMMARY: Set up and operate multiple CNC machining centers per work instructions. Assist other CNC machinists in assigned area with day-to-day production. Set up and run new CNC programs and fixturing. Identify and recommend improvements to new and existing programs, documentation, fixturing and processes. Modify CNC programs if necessary to complete assigned tasks. Run production lots and maintain a safe, organized and clean work environment. Communicate with previous and following shifts to optimize Quality, Safety and Efficiency. RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: 1. Sets up CNC machining centers. 2. Modifies tooling, programs and fixturing as needed. 3. Assists operators in assigned area. 4. Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures. 5. Must be able to perform, but not limited to, the following tasks: milling, turning, drilling, tapping, deburring, sawing and sanding. 6. Perform inspection of machined product (including documentation of results). 7. Completes and maintains paperwork for parts. 8. Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve issues. 9. Follows standard operating procedures (SOPs). 10. Perform all other duties, as assigned. EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION: Related experience in precision job shop environment. Minimum 5 years experience as CNC Machinist. Minimum high school diploma. QUALIFICATIONS/OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must have good command of the English language, both written and spoken. Math skills: Shop Math, Trigonometry, Geometry. Must be able to read and interpret drawings, follow routers, and use basic hand held measuring tools. Able to get along well with others. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Able to frequently lift/push/pull objects that are 50 pounds, or heavier, repeatedly.

2 JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION/TITLE: EDM Machinist 1 SHIFT: As assigned DEPARTMENT: Production FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt REPORTS TO: Production Supervisor - Machining REVISION DATE: 1/7/2015 POSITION SUMMARY: Set up and operate multiple EDM machining centers per work instructions. Assist other EDM machinists in assigned area with day-to-day production. Set up and run new EDM programs and fixturing. Identify and recommend improvements to new and existing programs, documentation, fixturing and processes. Modify EDM programs if necessary to complete assigned tasks. Run production lots and maintain a safe, organized and clean work environment. Communicate with previous and following shifts to optimize Quality, Safety and Efficiency. RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: 1. Analyze written specifications, drawings and rough sketches and takes verbal instructions to plan layout and determine sequence of operations. 2. Follow work instructions and standard operating procedures. 3. Evaluates procedures and recommends changes or modifications for efficiency and adaptability to setup and production. 4. Perform inspection of machined work (including documentation of results) and verify conformance of finished workpiece to specifications. 5. Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve issues. 6. Maintain clean and orderly tooling/machine/work areas 7. Completes and maintains paperwork for parts. 8. All other reasonable duties as assigned. EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION: Related experience in precision job shop environment. Minimum 5 years experience as an EDM Machinist. High school diploma required. Components are machined in accordance with documented process parameters or under guidance of supervisor and/or engineers. 4 Job Element Wt % Specific Duty 1) Diamond Turning Production 80% A) Part Preparation Parts are cleaned and prepared on time to meet production requirements and priorities. Preparation processes to include ultrasonic cleaning, flow test, annealing, helium leak test, acid etch, lapping the backs of mirror blanks, packing of mirror blanks, stain removal processes and part holder cleaning processes. Defined processes are always adhered to ensuring consistent product quality. B) Metrology Verify figure of wafer tables using interferometer to guarantee that all parts meet specifications. C) Incoming Verification Check received parts to verify correct part design and quantity. Perform visual inspection of wafer tables before processing and separate parts not meeting quality standards. Material and work order discrepancies to be reported and resolved, per work instructions. D) Housekeeping & Safety Chemicals and waste are handled correctly per specified processes. Required personal protective equipment (PPE) is utilized when required. Ensure work area(s) are kept clean and organized at all times. Replenish chemicals and operating supplies as required. E) Workflow Planning Identify parts with critical deadlines and prioritize work activities.
