4 Cmmencement NOTE: If yu are hiring a candidate int the last vacancy f the requisitin, the cmpetitin will Fill autmatically. Candidates will be able t see the cmpetitin s Filled status n the Career Centre, s if yu are planning t deliver regrets t unsuccessful candidates, yu shuld d s as sn as pssible. Start by expanding the Help panel n the right side f the screen, if it isn t already pen. Instructins fr all Tale tasks can be fund here. OR If yu are viewing the candidate list, put a check-mark t the left f the candidate s name, then select Change Step/Status frm the Mre Actins drp-dwn. OR If yu are viewing the candidate s applicatin, then frm the Mre Actins drp-dwn, select Change Step/Status. Make nte f the candidate s current Step/Status. The candidate must be in the Step/Status f Hire/Hired in rder t send the Cmmencement dcument t the Human Resurce Service Centre If the candidate is still in the Screening step, yu will need t change it t Assessment/Successful befre prceeding t the Hire step. Change their Step t Hire and their Status t Hired. Check the Send Crrespndence bx. Select the candidate s start date in the psitin. If yu dn t knw the exact start date, indicate yur best estimate. 5 Start typing cmmencement in the bx and let aut-suggest prvide a pick-list t chse frm. Select Cmmencement Each crrespndence cnsists f several paragraphs. Each paragraph is listed n the right-hand side. Select thse paragraphs which yu wish t include in yur cmmencement (select nly ne f the tw Signature Lines, depending n whether yu are the hiring manager fr the cmpetitin, r yu are ding the cmmencement n behalf f the manager) then click Next. Fill in all the prmpts. There are quite a few, s make sure yu scrll all the way t the bttm t cmplete them all. When dne, click Next. Public Service Cmmissin Talent Branch 7/7/2017 Page 3

6 In this screen, fields which ppulate frm the candidate s applicatin r frm the cmpetitin will NOT be aut-filled. Click Preview and Edit. Make nte f any errrs listed n the right. These indicate fields which have been left blank, and must be filled in n the next screen. Click the candidate s name t view the crrespndence and crrect the errrs. Scrll thrugh the crrespndence t ensure the cntent is accurate, and t crrect the errrs. Errrs will be highlighted in yellw. If yu wish t change the Frm address, replace the cntent in that field with the desired address. If yu are making changes t the T, CC r BCC lines, use a semi-cln between addresses. Ensure the line des nt end in a semi-cln. When the crrespndence is ready t send, click Save. NOTE: The Save buttn des nt save the crrespndence as draft s that yu can cme back later t finish it.
