9 BSB42015 Certificate IV in Leadership and Management CRICOS Course Code: M Course Description : Students of this course will learn leadership and management competencies such as how to communicate effectively as a workplace leader, lead effective workplace relationships and lead team effectiveness, as well as how to implement operational plans, report on financial activity, promote innovation, implement continuous improvement and undertake project work. Students will also learn how to implement and monitor WHS policies, procedures and programs to meet legislative requirements, make presentations, coordinate implementation of customer service strategies and implement customer service standards. Course Outcome: This course reflects the role of individuals desiring to work in frontline management and supervisory positions in a broad range of industries. People in these positions provide leadership, guidance and support to others, as well as assume responsibility for their own performance. They also have some responsibility for organizing and monitoring the output of their team, apply solutions to a defined range of problems and analyses and evaluate information from a variety of sources. People in leadership and management positions display initiative and judgment in planning, organizing, implementing and monitoring their own workload and the workload of others. They use communication skills to support individuals and teams to meet organizational or enterprise requirements. They plan, design, apply and evaluate solutions to unpredictable problems, and identify, analyze and synthesize information from a variety of sources. They use cognitive and communication skills to identify, analyze and synthesize information from a variety of sources and use conceptual skills to express ideas and perspectives or respond to complex problems. Course Outcome: Students of this course will learn a broad range of senior leadership and management improvement, leading and managing organizational change, managing human resources strategic planning, developing and implementing strategic plans and developing systematic approaches to managing WHS. In addition, students will learn how to develop marketing and business plans, develop and implement diversity policies, evaluate international marketing opportunities, provide leadership across the organization and contribute to organizational development. 34 POLICY OVERSEAS STUDENT HEALTH COVER If you are an international student, you must be covered by OSHC from when you arrive in Australia and for the entire duration of your stay, in line with Condition 8501 of your student visa. This can be organized by Sydney City College of Management or yourself. If you are studying at more than one educational provider and both are arranging OSHC, you will have to ensure that there is no gap between policies. This means that as one policy expires the next commences immediately. You can find out more about purchasing Overseas Student Health Cover at the website studyinaustralia.gov.au/ global/live-in-australia/insurance or by speaking to SCCM Marketing and Admissions Staff. The cost of the OSHC policy will depend on the level of cover that you choose; however, according to Canstar s research, the lowest cost of minimum cover is $438/ year for singles cover, $2,685/year for couples cover and $4,026/year for family cover (Australian dollars). CREDIT TRANSFER AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING POLICY Sydney City College of Management will ensure that Credit Transfer (CT) / Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is offered to all applicants prior to and upon enrolment. Sydney City College of Management will fully recognize the AQF and VET Qualifications and Statements of Attainments issued by other Registered Training Organizations and ensures that its own recognition process is transparent, fair and provides students with sufficient information to support their claim for recognition. DEFERRAL, SUSPENSION AND CANCELLATION POLICY Sydney City College of Management will only grant deferment, suspension and cancellation of student s enrolments in certain limited circumstances. Equally so, you will not reveal private information about staff and participants. 34 COURSE PROGRESS AND COMPLETION WITHIN EXPECTED DURATION Sydney City College of Management systematically records, monitors and assesses student course progress and takes proactive measures in notifying and counseling students at risk of not meeting course requirements. In addition, the Institute continuously monitors the workload of students to ensure they complete their enrolment within the duration specified in their CoE, and, only allow course duration extensions in certain limited circumstances. Students who do not meet course progress requirements will be reported to the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP), which may result in the cancellation of their student visa.

35 POLICY ATTENDANCE Sydney City College Of Management monitors student attendance for it s internal control process and to ensure. SCCM will strictly monitor student attendance for those students whose course progress is not satisfactory and minimum level of 80% attendance level must need to be maintained by the student during the monitoring period. Under 18 Student Welfare Sydney City College of Management recruits the under 18 Student. We take under 18 welfare process seriously and there are few extra steps in-terms of admission of under 18 and their welfare arrangements. Any student willing to enrol with SCCM must have legal guardian or custodian in Australia as explained in National Code 2018 standard 5 Information/Documents/National%20Code% %20Factsheets/Standard%205.pdf. If you do not have any legal guardian or custodian in Australia than you will have to request Sydney City College of Management to arrange you welfare in Australia and untill you turn 18 you must follow the under 18 welfare arrangement policy of SCCM. REFUND POLICY Refund Situation Monitoring Welfare Arrangement of Under 18 students SCCM regularly monitors welfare arrangements of under 18 students, who have been issued a CAAW to verify that the under 18 overseas student s accommodation is appropriate to the overseas students age and needs: prior to the accommodation being approved; and at least every six months thereafter. SCCM will conduct an initial physical site visit to verify the overseas student s accommodation, prior to the accommodation being approved. SCCM only approved welfare arrangement for student that has been approved by SCCM welfare arrangement partner provider Australia Homestay Network. Student staying on SCCM approved welfare arrangement will abide by the SCCM welfare arrangement policy and process. SCCM conducts regular follow up with Approved carer and welfare provider to ensure that student stay is safe without any hurdles.
