Protecting the health and safety of employees and or members of the public who may be affected by your activities is an essential part of risk management and must be led by the board. Failure to include health and safety as a key business risk in board decisions can have catastrophic results. Many high-profile safety cases over the years have been rooted in failures of leadership. HSE Suppor t At this event you will get the opportunity to witness a live PACE (Police & Criminal Evidence Act) Interview. When a prosecution is being considered during an HSE investigation, an individual or representative nominated by a company, to speak on the company s behalf can be interviewed under caution (a PACE interview ). The purpose of this scenario is to show you the implications of such an interview for those concerned. Following a fall from height through a fragile roof, Operations Director Andy Cartridge of Dizzy Heights has been invited to attend a PACE interview, supported by Hayley Saunders a Lawyer from Shoosmiths. Practical Solutions As a representative of your company we would like to invite you to witness this PACE interview which will be conducted live during the event. There will also be the opportunity to witness The Operations Director being cross questioned by a Barrister. Once completed there will be an opportunity to ask the Barrister and Hayley Saunders a Lawyer from Shoosmiths, questions about the process and of the individuals involved with the case. In attending the event you will be entered into a prize draw for which the winner has the opportunity to take up the IOSH Directing Safely course kindly donated by OMS Training of Coalville.
