University of Canterbury, New Zealand Masters in Commerce (Organizational Theory) with 1 st class honors, 2011 Dissertation title: Bringing the individual back into institutional theory. University of Canterbury, New Zealand Bachelor of Commerce with 1 st class honors, 2009 Capstone title: Evidence based leadership in the health sector: Developing a behavioral competency model for the Canterbury District Health Board. RESEARCH INTERESTS My research interests are in the areas of workplace relationships and interpersonal dynamics. I am particularly interested in how individuals, teams, and organizations navigate tensions that arise when the relational and task elements of organizing intersect. My work to date explores these tensions across multiple domains and levels including organizational neuroscience, task and relational leadership, dehumanization and ethical leadership, emotional and cognitive intelligence, and relational and bureaucratic organizational goals. My dissertation considers the role of intentionality in workplace relationships and develops a theory and measure of relational self-efficacy. I have a secondary research interest in organizational citizenship behavior (OCB). My specific interests in this domain are motives for OCB, measurement issues and opportunities, and gender effects. I am trained in both quantitative and qualitative methodologies and take an active interest in research methods. TEACHING INTERESTS Organizational Behavior, Leadership, General Management, Research Methods Kylie C. Rochford 1
