2 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY NT Athletics has been through a period of foundation setting and brand growth in order to strengthen the future of Athletics in the Northern Territory. The future strategy of NT Athletics sees a focus on: One Sport Further capacity development, coaches, affiliates Innovation Asian and Northern Australian engagement and Community participation

3 VISION We are Onesport where every Territorian can participate KEY AREAS OF ACTIVITY PURPOSE Leading, fostering and encouraging participation in athletics in the Northern Territory through our key areas of activities Leadership Participation Investment Competition and Events

4 Leadership o Continue building a strong effective board, whose focus is on strategic leadership o Maintain constitution to ensure relevance o Employ a full time CEO by 2018 o Increase brand awareness of athletics in the Northern Territory o Establish a positive communication partnership between clubs and Athletics Northern Territory Participation o Expand indigenous participation opportunities o Increased recruitment, training and recognition of volunteers o Develop a high performance strategy o Promote and live landscape as Onesport Investment o Secure and maintain Tier 1 funding o Upgrade facilities in regional areas where Athletics Northern Territory has member clubs o Develop a sponsorship strategy o Attract a naming sponsor for the stadium o Establish an asset strategy o Communication systems Competition and Events o Strengthen existing events and identify possible new events o Develop an Asian Engagement Strategy o Host Asian Games in Northern Territory o Expand Mitchell Street Mile presence in the Athletics area, participation and community engagement o Arafura Games

We will embrace collaboration and inclusion to promote the potential and best of Athletics across all of the NT and the clubs we represent. 6 Aligning the Future within the Sporting Landscape One Sport Text Mutual support and collective thinking with key partners will ensure we maximise the current and future relevance and effectiveness of Athletics in the NT in these rapidly changing times. Text In addition to bringing about optimal results for Athletics in the NT, the aim of this unified and holistic approach is to positively impact the athletics movement nationally; OneSport.

We are committed to keeping fun at the centre of what we do; and to displaying collective determination and drive for the continual improvement of the NT Athletics Movement. DEVELOPMENT We will strive to continue to develop officials, coaches, clubs and the sport of athletics in general, into the future. Athletics NT will work with all to develop aspiring athletes, regardless of age, gender or abilities to be their very best. We will develop athletics as a OneSport that is a family orientated activity.

8 Our Pathway to Success To achieve our vision our strategic priorities are: 03 Leading and following 02 Develop capacity for all Territorians We must contintuue to develop capacity thorugh the development of steering committees, developmen of coaches and officals, creating pathways for volunteers and others within the sport. Based on the principle that to be a good leader you need to also be a good follower.
