3 Job Purpose We are committed to continuing to develop our services in order to help more people experiencing mental health problems and to finding new supporters to help make this happen. We appointed a professional fundraiser for the first time in 2015, seeking to adopt a more strategic approach to our fundraising through trusts and foundations, individuals, corporates and community events. We are now looking for an enthusiastic fundraiser to devise, deliver and manage a programme of donor development. We are looking for someone with experience of working in a fundraising role previously. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone full of ideas, passion and a willingness to work hard to achieve targets. You will need to be creative, highly motivated and proactive, well organised and confident working as part of a team, and independently, in a fast-paced environment. Accountability Responsible to the Head of Fundraising and Development. No direct managerial responsibilities. Key duties and responsibilities Establish a systematic strategy to develop new donors as a key income stream for the charity; through our Friends scheme, community fundraising and work with local businesses. Develop, implement and manage a range of programmes to maximise income through one-off donations and regular giving. Work independently and be self-motivated in initiating contacts with potential donors and develop a supporter journey plan to actively retain and grow commitments. Manage donor relationships through high quality stewardship, to include an appropriate and consistent level of contact through written correspondence, telephone calls, meetings, and events. Work closely with the Communications Officer to create compelling fundraising materials - including, on-site display, print, website, enewsletter, social media - that articulate The Cellar Trust story and case for support effectively. Review options relating to donor management software and ensure that appropriate technological infrastructure is established. Streamline administrative processes to allow for campaign analysis and evaluation. Lead on the management of supporter data and work with the data protection officer to ensure the Cellar Trust complies with data protection legislation. Work with the Finance Manager to ensure that all opportunities to realise gift aid income are maximised. Plan and manage donor cultivation events and work with colleagues across the organisation to ensure that opportunities are developed to promote our Friends scheme, and other ways of giving, as part of all Cellar Trust events. Act as an ambassador for the Trust, attending external events, giving talks/ presentations and public speaking as required. Assist the Head of Fundraising & Development with the preparation and management of fundraising budgets, including monitoring of KPIs, preparation of reports and financial projections to ensure budget targets are achieved. Keep abreast of all developments in legislation and regulatory control relating to fundraising and ensure that all fundraising is conducted in line with these and with the Institute of Fundraising s Code of Fundraising Practice. Work with the Head of Fundraising & Development, to support other areas of the Trust s fundraising activity as required. 3

4 Person specification All aspects of the person specification will be assessed through the application form with additional questions at interview stage. Criteria Essential Desirable How Assessed QUALIFICATIONS SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE GCSE English and Maths grade C or above or equivalent experience. At least 2 years experience of working in a fundraising role and successfully managing fundraising relationships. Self-starter able to work independently, but also collaboratively as part of a dynamic, close-knit team. Ability to create and sustain relationships with a diverse group of constituents. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to network effectively. Track record of resourceful and imaginative approach to income generation. Experience of managing donor stewardship and supporter care to the highest standard. Experience of fundraising events. Degree. Institute of Fundraising, or other recognised fundraising qualification. Experience of setting up new fundraising programmes. Certificates Confidence to manage a number of initiatives simultaneously, with excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied and heavy workload. Excellent IT skills including experience of working with CRM software/donor databases. Excellent administrative and record keeping skills and the ability to produce reports to a high standard for internal and external stakeholders. Experience of working towards agreed income targets. 4

5 KNOWLEDGE Knowledge of fundraising best practice and Institute of Fundraising code of practice. Knowledge of the mental health sector. Working knowledge of data protection legislation.
