1 MA EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY RECREATION COORDINATOR (Adult Kickball) Hourly Rate: $10.51 Closes: Open Until Filled This recruitment is to create an eligibility list and fill a Part-Time, Seasonal position in the Recreation Division working in the capacity as a Recreation Coordinator for an Adult Kickball program. This is a temporary, part-time, seasonal position with no guaranteed number of work hours. Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required and three (3) years experience; or any combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the positions. Candidates must possess or be able to obtain certification in First Aid and CPR. Experience in the sport hired for, as a player, coach or referee. Minimum age requirement is 18 years of age. Selection Process: Applications and supplements will be reviewed and the most qualified applicants will be placed on an eligibility list. From this list, applicants may be selected to be interviewed by an oral board and/or further testing. 3 PAY GRADE: 700 EEOC CODE: 05 FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt Revised: 07/19/17 STATEMENT OF THE JOB City of Bullhead City Recreation Coordinator (Adult Kickball) The position may consist of working in the capacity as a Recreation Coordinator for specialized indoor/outdoor recreational activities providing organization, coaching, instructions and supervision to participants in an Adult Kickball program. Public Relations and staff supervision are major parts of this position's responsibilities. This is a part-time, seasonal position with no guaranteed number of work hours. REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or GED required unless currently enrolled in an accredited school and a Bachelor's degree or considerable college level work in physical education, recreation or related areas; or any combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the positions. Candidates must possess or be able to obtain certification in First Aid and CPR. Minimum age requirement is 18 years of age. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS Reports to: Recreation Manager, Recreation Supervisor and others as directed. Supervises: Recreation Aides. Contract Umpires Coordinates with: All Recreation staff and others as appropriate or as directed. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following tasks, knowledge, skills, and other characteristics. Apply principles and practices of public recreation methods involved in organizing, conducting, planning and supervising programs of specialized activities for all age ranges of participants. Prepare and maintain league and tournament records/files including attendance records and compile staff evaluation for review. Provide for the safety of the public; coordinating and ensuring that staffing levels are met. Makes announcements as needed over the P.A. System and contacts emergency personnel as necessary.

4 Recreation Coordinator / (Kickball) Page 2 Keep physically fit and mentally alert. Accurately and promptly fill out accident/incident reports. Attend staff meetings; posts, enforce league and facility rules and regulation, and settle disputes with facility staff and recreation participants. Requests necessary supplies and equipment as it would relate to specialized recreational programs. Observe patron participation at recreation facilities and/or during programs to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, rules and regulations. Display knowledge of safety rules and regulations as it relates to the Recreation Division and enforces same in a fair and consistent manner. Assists with scheduling and supervision of assigned personnel. Performs other duties as required or as necessary in case of an emergency. Provides exceptional customer service to internal and external customers. Complies with and promotes safe practices in agreement with the safety rules and procedures set forth in the Loss Control Program. Performs related duties as assigned. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Knowledge of: Principles and practices of public recreation; methods involved in organizing, conducting and supervising an Adult Kickball program. Familiar with and practice of American Red Cross standards and have thorough knowledge of emergency action plans and have the ability to carry them out. Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures including proper spelling and grammar, recordkeeping and filing procedures. Ability to: Instruct participants in a number of specialized activities; establish and maintain effective working relations with the public; supervise and evaluate personnel; express ideas orally and in writing; keep appropriate records; work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the elements. Recognize potential hazards; communicate effectively with the public; observe and monitor people's behavior; effectively supervise facility and/or program staff. TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED: May be required to utilize a telephone, two-way radio, first aid equipment, personal computer, copier, and fax machine. Some positions may require the use of various sports equipment associated with recreation games.
