1 EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY RECREATION COORDINATOR (Suddenlink Community Center) Hourly Rate: $11.04 Closes: January 31, 5:00 PM (AZ TIME) This recruitment is fill temporary, part-time, seasonal position in the Recreation Division working in the capacity as a Recreation Coordinator at the Suddenlink Community Center. This is a temporary position with no guaranteed number of work hours and consists of a 29- hour work week maximum. Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. Prefer strong math skills, basic recordkeeping skills, cash register experience, and/or experience associated with recreational activities, league rules and regulations, special events and programs of the City s Recreation Program and dealing with all ages of the general public. Candidates must possess or be able to obtain certification in First Aid and CPR. Minimum age requirement is 18 years of age. Selection Process: Applications and supplements will be reviewed and the most qualified applicants will be placed on an eligibility list. From this list, applicants may be selected to be interviewed by an oral board and/or further testing. All applicants will be notified of their status by mail. Final selection will be made by the Recreation Manager with final approval of the Human Resources Manager and City Manager. Approval of employment by Recreation Manager, HR Manager and the City Manager. 2. Successful completion of a drug screen. 3. Complete set of applicant fingerprints. 4. Successful completion of a background investigation including, but not limited to verification of previous employment, verification of required education, driving record check, Arizona Department of Public Safety and Federal Bureau of Investigation criminal histories. 5. If required by the position, passing a scheduled physical examination paid for by the City. 6. Verification of identity and work authorization.

3 PAY GRADE: 700 EEOC CODE: 05 FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt Revised: 01/04/18 STATEMENT OF THE JOB The position may consist of working in the capacity as a Recreation Coordinator at the Community Center performing duties associated with various recreational activities, special events and programs of the City's Recreation Program. Public Relations is a major part of this position's responsibilities. This is a temporary position with no guaranteed number of work hours and consists of a 29-hour work week maximum. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS City of Bullhead City Recreation Coordinator Suddenlink Community Center Reports to: Supervises: Coordinates with: Recreation Manager and/or Recreation Supervisor. N/A All Recreation staff and others as appropriate or as directed. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following tasks, knowledge, skills, and other characteristics. Set up and tear down of tables, chairs, audio-visual equipment and decorations for parties, events, meetings and other activities. Communicate with groups and individuals renting space in the facility about maintenance needs, scheduling, staffing, payments, and any other concerns. Create a weekly staff schedule for Recreation Aides working at the Community Center. Perform accountability tasks associated with cash flow and correct calculations for appropriate reports. Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment while conducting assigned programs and operates facilities.

4 Page 2 Issues equipment and supplies to activity participants or groups. Performs routine maintenance and cleaning of recreation facilities and equipment Maintains visual contact within "areas of responsibility", until properly relieved and take immediate action when in doubt of a patron's safety. Takes action or calls appropriate supervisor s attention to any acts or procedures that might endanger or create disharmony among staff or patrons. Enforces safety rules and regulations in a fair and consistent manner. Accurately and promptly fill out accident/incident reports. Answer routine questions regarding recreation facility usage. Recommend improvements to City Recreation facilities and services to the Recreation Manager. Performs other duties as assigned in case of an emergency. Provides exceptional customer service to internal and external customers. Complies with and promotes safe practices in agreement with the safety rules and procedures set forth in the Loss Control Program. Performs related work as required. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Knowledge of: Proper care and use of equipment; simple recordkeeping; accurate cashiering and mathematical skills; principles and practices of public recreation; methods involved in organizing, conducting and supervising a program of special activities. Must be familiar with, practice, American Red Cross standards and have thorough knowledge of emergency action plans and have the ability to carry them out. Ability to: To work cohesively with City employees, children and adults (general public) conducting and overseeing various programs of recreational activities; keep appropriate records; express ideas orally and in writing while promoting exceptional customer service. TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED May be required to utilize a telephone, two-way radio, first aid equipment, personal computer, copier, fax machine. Some positions may require the use of various sports equipment associated with recreation games.
