1 Hammersmith and Fulham Coalition against Cuts need a Development Worker. We are looking to employ a Disabled person to work with us for 10 hours a week. Our organisation Hammersmith and Fulham Coalition Against Cuts, known as HAFCAC, is a Disabled People s Organisation - Disabled people run and control it. We are a campaigning organisation and we set up in We work in Hammersmith and Fulham. Sometimes we also work with organisations working across London and the rest of the country.

2 Our campaigning has been very successful. These are exciting times in Hammersmith and Fulham! But there is a lot to do. We have received funding from Trust for London and we want to: raise the profile of Disabled People and our rights. give more local Disabled people the confidence and skills to be able to influence people who make decisions. remove barriers to local Disabled People being involved in the decision making themselves. What the job is You will recruit local Disabled people to be members of HAFCAC.

3 You will arrange training and mentoring for HAFCAC members. This will help them become effective campaigners You will run campaigns that remove barriers for Disabled people. These include making it easier to register to vote and to vote in elections. And getting more Disabled people involved in decision making locally. You will help run the organisation and write reports to say how well we are doing. How much we are paying Rate of pay: Hours: Responsible to: 25,000 pro rata (actual pay is 7143 per year) 10 hrs / week HAFCAC steering group Period: Until November 2021

4 Office: We are currently based in North Kensington. We plan to move to an office in Hammersmith and Fulham in 2019 Who are we looking for We need a Disabled person to do this work. This is because personal lived experience of the barriers we face is vital to doing the work. You need to be able to get to Hammersmith and Fulham and to travel around during your work. If you need support in order to do the job we can support you to make an application to Access to Work. How we decide who gets the job All of the applications will be looked at by the steering group members of HAFCAC, all Disabled people ourselves. We will choose to meet some people using the information they give about their experience and skills, and how strong that information is. These meetings will be in the week beginning 26 th November.
