3 About the The Organization The (FNHA) is a diverse and rapidly evolving First Nations health organization of professional, innovative, and dedicated team members and leaders. Founded in 2013, the FNHA is the first of its kind providing a proactive and holistic approach to health and wellness, and to the delivery of services which are sustainable and honour the customs and traditions of First Nations communities. The FNHA cultivates and values working collaboratively to achieve a shared vision of healthy, self-determining, and vibrant BC First Nations children, families, and communities. FNHA works closely with the Ministry of Health and Regional Health Authorities and is focused on community-based services that focus on health promotion and disease prevention including: Primary Care Services; Mental Health and Addictions Programming; Health and Wellness Planning; Health Infrastructure and Human Resources; Environmental Health and Research; First Nations Health Benefits and e-health Technology. With 650+ employees, FNHA is transforming the way health services are delivered to First Nations people in BC. It is creating and leading a social innovation movement. It has a very clear Leadership Statement supported by 7 Directives and clearly defined Operating Principles and Shared Values that guide the culture, the work and the decisions of the team. 5 The Opportunity As a member of the Senior Executive Team (SET), the Vice President, Information Management Information Technology (VP IMIT) and Chief Information Officer (CIO) provides leadership, advice and guidance to carry out strategic and operational services supporting FNHA Business units and their operations in support of FNHA s work to meet the needs of BC First Nations communities. Known as an entrepreneur and social innovator, the VP IMIT will be both inquisitive and humble with the responsibility for planning, deployment, and management of all information technology and information systems across the FNHA. Specifically, the successful candidate: Change Leadership of an evolving and innovative First Nations organization. This includes demonstrating and providing senior level leadership through a Change Leadership lens to support the implementation of the FNHA Leadership Statement and organizational transformation to the relevant teams, and all FNHA staff as required. Provides exemplary leadership behaviors in the shaping, improving, institutionalizing and sustaining FNHA s organizational culture as a high performing, wellness-based organization. Supports the development and implementation of the FNHA Multi-Year Health Plan and Three-Year CEO Strategic Roadmap and ensures that practices are consistent with FNHA s curriculum i.e. 7 Directives, Shared Values, Operating Principles and Leadership Statement. Provides strategic leadership and direction to establish and implement a robust and sustainable infrastructure plan for Core Technology Systems to meet the operational goals of the FNHA. Provides strategic direction in ensuring that the FNHA s back office IT services and user support is reliable, sustainable and responsive. This includes optimizing existing infrastructure, implementing new infrastructure in relevant strategic areas and building technical and user expertise within the department. Develops long term strategies, plans and concepts supporting the adoption and use of project management services standards and practices, to further support the effective and efficient implementation of the FNHA s IM/IT strategic and tactical initiatives. In partnership with the IMIT Directors, identifies, assesses and mitigates risks pertaining to IT projects, applications and infrastructure. Develops and oversees the IMIT security program; facilitates engagement and communication across IMIT, the organization and external partners and services. Leads strategic security planning to achieve business goals by prioritizing defense initiatives and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future security technologies. Partners with the COO and CMO to provide leadership in establishing a framework for information management areas. Develops and implements strategies to ensure effective utilization of several enterprise applications that are currently in use, including PeopleSoft ERP, SharePoint, virtualized environments, and other variety of business-specific custom applications. Establishes portfolio service standards and performance metrics for relevant functions; periodically monitors and tracks progress against the defined metrics and standards. 4 page

6 Qualifications Relevant post-secondary degree or equivalent experience in computer science, engineering or related area years of progressive experience in a senior leadership role. Experience in developing and implementing long term technology strategies for mid-sized to large organizations. Extensive senior leadership experience to partner with broad range of internal and external stakeholders, including government departments to serve large, disperse communities in remote locations. Advanced knowledge of IT architecture and general management with acumen to integrate technology into business operations. Understanding of management principles including strategic planning, resource planning, human resource planning, project and risk management. Understands and stays up to date on general industry trends, direction and emerging technologies, and has the ability and foresight to translate the technologies into organizational setting relevant to FNHA. Exceptional organizational, leadership, decision-making and communication skills to perform the functions as described. Understands how to navigate through political environments and influence and negotiate as necessary. Ability to articulate problems, organize relevant data, analyze available information and evaluates results to choose the best solution to solve problems. 5 page

If you take a trip outside to Grouse Mountain in summer, you can expect to enter a hiker s paradise where dining, activities, and wildlife await. In winters, Grouse Mountain transforms into a winter wonderland with snowshoeing, skiing, snowboarding, and outdoor skating. With easy access to Whistler, the Canadian Rockies, Victoria, Vancouver Island, and Alaska, Vancouver has been properly named the gateway to adventure. It is a 45-minute drive to the USA border and a 2.5 hour drive to Seattle, Washington. The city has a metropolitan population of 2.4 million, ranking as Canada s third most populous metropolitan district and the Downtown area is 65% residential. Vancouver s climate is incredibly mild by Canadian standards, and its winters are easily the warmest of Canada s cities. Vancouver is the largest film production center in North America, next to Los Angeles and New York City, with huge blockbuster films such as Star Trek being filmed there Vancouver is home to five renowned universities in the region, including Simon Fraser University and the University of British Columbia, which are ranked among the world s best. 6 page
