1 Job Profile & Employee Specification Title: Job reference: Based at: Responsible to: Trust Coordinator TCM-2013 VAST Centre, Social Economy Village, Unit 12, Hannahstown Hill Chairperson Salary: 24,123 (30 hours) Main Purpose of job To manage and co-ordinate a community-based response to the needs of people affected by the conflict. To line manage a small team of employees (full time and sessional) and support them in delivering projects and in the overall management of centre activities. Responsible for the day-to-day running of the VAST Drop-In Centre. To assist victims and survivors in accessing appropriate packages of care through VAST, VSS individual scheme or referral and to ensure their needs are being represented at the appropriate levels. To raise the profile of VAST, in all sectors including voluntary, community and statutory sectors and where appropriate develop appropriate links and referral pathways. Responsible for all monitoring and evaluation paperwork related to the project and ensuring this is provided as and when required to the funding agent VSS. To undertake other duties appropriate to the post as required by the Management Committee and Directors of the Trust.

2 Summary of responsibilities and duties 1. To manage and co-ordinate a community-based response to the needs of people affected by the conflict. 2. To line manage a small team of employees/sessional workers and support them in delivering projects and in the overall management of centre activities. 3. To undertake and oversee all management duties with reference to the day-to-day operation of the Trust. 4. In conjunction with the board of directors, the Trust Coordinator will be responsible for the management and implementation of projects including recruitment of delivery agents, agreeing project content/approach and monitoring and evaluating impact by providing updates on actual outputs and objectives against projected and agreed targets. 5. To oversee and ensure finance worker is operating within the financial budgets and procurement restrictions outlined by the funder. 6. To identify the needs and issues of those affected by the troubles by a programme of consultation with individuals and community groups. 7. To raise awareness about the identified needs with those in the statutory, voluntary and community sectors and where appropriate to work with other agencies to develop appropriate responses to those needs. 8. To prepare and deliver reports to funding agencies and programme funders as and when required. 9. To prepare and deliver reports to the management committee regarding project development, centre management and staff related issues. 10. To organise and attend victims and survivor related meetings. 11. To attend training, conferences and other events outside of normal working hours as and when needed (time in lieu will be implemented). 12. To collate and analyse relevant monitoring data, information and research as and when requested by funding bodies and also as and when of benefit to the Trust. 13. Any other duties as required.

3 Employee Specification Title: Job reference: Trust Coordinator TCM Qualifications and experience: Applicants must, as at the closing date for receipt of application forms: 1. Have a third level qualification or equivalent; 2. Be able to demonstrate by providing specific examples on the application form, that they have at least three years project management experience within the community and voluntary sector. 3. Be able to demonstrate specific examples of line management and being responsible for a small team of staff. 4. Demonstrate strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office & other I.T. Competencies. Additionality: In addition to the above qualifications and experience, the Trust reserves the right to give special consideration to applicants who can; a) Demonstrate at least 1 years experience of working with victim and survivors of conflict and/or; b) Applicants that experience of working with those affected by trauma.

4 Core Skills: Candidates must be able to demonstrate most of the following qualities: Awareness of and commitment to the aims and values of the Trust. An ability to relate to the needs of survivors of trauma, distress, depression and abuse. An awareness of the issues surrounding those who have suffered loss/trauma particularly as a consequence of the Troubles. Ability to work with people on a one to one as well as group basis. A commitment to working closely with other community and voluntary groups where appropriate. Commitment to the principle of equal opportunities. Be highly motivated. Be prepared to work unsociable hours. Possession of a flexible approach along with a willingness to learn new ideas and techniques within the ethos of the Trust. Sound leadership qualities and an ability to motivate other team members. Sensitivity and awareness of the needs of different groups of people in the community. Ability to work with members of the public. Ability to work on own initiative. Good all-round communication and presentation skills. Knowledge and experience of working in a disadvantaged urban area or with disadvantaged groups.
