Purpose of the day Following a brief update on the delivery Programme the focus of today is UK Link file formats The file formats will be presented at a high level and in the context of the business processes in which they are employed (complementing the on going process walkthroughs at UKLIEF) This session has been deliberately scheduled at the outset of the formal consultation process Representatives from across the Programme are here to discuss the file formats and answer your questions Don t take your questions home with you 3

4 The UK Link Programme

Achievements to date The UK Link Programme continues to progress towards October 2015 implementation A number of important milestones have been achieved including the completion of Logical Analysis and High Level Design and the commencement of file format consultation Build has progressed significantly enabling system test to commence Xoserve has prioritised (and will continue to) activities which enable the industry to prepare for UKL implementation Early release of the file formats in draft form To-Be process walkthroughs led by programme SMEs Analysis to support the data cleanse forum The following slides provide further context to the UKLP by outlining the overarching strategy, putting the delivery programme in the context of Nexus and finally, summarising the current status of the programme 5

UKLP Strategy (1 of 2) 6 Commercial Structure A maximum price contract is in place with our primary delivery partner Wipro We have contracted for outcome the what not the how Self assurance model employed to streamline delivery The Logical Models have defined the requirements. Formal Xoserve sign off at UAT will validate they are met Delivery Approach Delivery teams include Xoserve and Wipro resources to ensure technical capability is supported with functional expertise Recognising the challenge of October 15 implementation the Programme has mobilised whilst modifications are under development Delivery risk areas are monitored closely and status reported regularly at industry forums Solution Strategy The core technology platform is SAP IS-U coupled with AMT Market Flow Packaged solutions were selected on the basis of functional fit and a proven record in the market Out of the box functionality employed as far as possible The solution will feature up front validations to safe guard data integrity and reduce manual interventions

UKLP Strategy (2 of 2) 7 Se Independent Assurance Baringa is engaged as independent assurance partner to identify programme risk areas and support mitigation action Assurance resources embedded within the programme not a peripheral audit function Externally published assurance reports produced / to be produced Post procurement Post DD Post UAT or Q1 15 Engagement Strategy Industry engagement prioritised from the outset of the programme Numerous industry fora utilised for engagement including UKLIEF, PNUNC, COB and the Data Cleanse Forum Xoserve is acting on feedback from the industry early release of draft file formats, To-Be process walkthroughs, investigating options to bring market test forwards in the plan Transition Approach Transitional arrangements are needed in order to manage the complexities of cutover to the new UKL solution Xoserve has engaged the industry on a series of transition topics and collaboratively developed solutions via a working group The transition solutions are now in the process of being formalised via the Mod development process

History of Nexus The timeline below puts the UKLP in the context of the full history of Project Nexus How October 15 implementation was set In Q the Senior Stakeholder Forum (SSF) set out a requirement to formalise an implementation date for the core Nexus Mods in order to give the industry something against which to mobilise resources The SSF agreed to set the implementation date to 1 st October * See slide 9 for a summary of the Mod status

UKLP scope The UKLP scope was formally baselined in February 2014 and is wider than the core Nexus Mods Since then Mod 454 has been rejected and Mod 468 is not sufficiently developed to be included in the design The Mods identified below are in scope but remain unapproved. The programme continues at risk with the delivery of these changes Mod No. Mod Description App. Date Imp. Date 440 Project Nexus igt Single Service Provision Pending Oct / 473A Project Nexus Allocation of Unidentified Gas Pending TBC 445 Amendment to the arrangements for Daily Metered Supply Point Capacity Pending TBC Since the scope was baselined further Modifications have been approved for implementation via the industry process. These Mods will pass through the UKLP formal change process and if impacts are established they will be scheduled for a future release However currently, with the exception of transition modifications, Xoserve is not impact assessing further change to enable programme resources to prioritise UKLP delivery 9

Detailed design status UK Link Application design is currently c90% complete The reforecast completion date for T2 (Settlement) is the end of October Retro functionality will require a complex customisation and accordingly design in this specific area is forecast to extend into November Despite this delay the critical path milestones have been met System Test began as planned on 01/09 and the timeline for the file format consultation process remains unchanged Gemini Consequential Change is on schedule, however, has a small inherent risk to change whilst design is completed for T2 The SAP BW workstream is focusing on the design of external reports and will prioritise these throughout the delivery cycle 11

Check point on key measures The key measures and activities detailed below are being prioritised by Xoserve within the delivery programme Current headline status for each is summarised on the subsequent slides Functional Fit Customisation Complexity Scope Lock Down Requirements Traceability Transition Mods EU Reform Progress File Formats Data Cleanse To-Be Process Walkthroughs Analysis of each measure or activity (and implications for the achievability of Oct 15) will be published in late November along with an independent assurance report 12

Check point on key measures Functional Fit Strong functional fit - current level of customisation for UKL application is c80% vs. target of 75% Customisation Complexity Functional specifications are developed for the requirements which need a customisation approximately 10% of specifications are classified high complexity Scope Lock Down Baselined list of in scope Mods defined Feb 14 Mod approval pending on 3 in scope Mods 13

Check point on key measures Requirements Traceability Requirements traceability approach and tools defined Traceability to be maintained throughout design, build and test activities Transition Mods Transition solutions developed via PNUNC are now progressing through the Mod process There is a small risk that detailed design identifies additional Transition requirements which will need prompt engagement EU Reform Progress Detailed design complete as per plan Code management strategy between EU Reform and UKLP defined 14

Check point on key measures File Formats File formats released early in draft format Formal consultation process now in progress Data cleanse forum frequency increased Data Cleanse To-Be Process Walkthroughs Limited progress on historic data cleanse items currently ~ 30% complete Additional data cleanse items planned for end of Q4 14 as an output of Source to Target (S2T) mapping To-Be process walkthroughs underway supported by strong attendance at UKLIEF Walkthrough schedule to the end of 2014 shared with the industry 15

Industry s role UKLP is an industry change programme The industry must collectively be ready for implementation in order to fully realise the Nexus benefits Xoserve has prioritised the provision of information that will enable industry participants to commence their development work we need to know if further dependencies remain Xoserve encourages stakeholder project resources to attend UKLP industry meetings Engagement on file formats and data are priority areas for the next period 16
