2 BACKGROUND OF THE PROGRAM The HIDA ExecutiveProgram on Quality Management is a 9-day intensive training program designed and conducted by the Overseas Human Resources and Industry Development Association (HIDA)* with Dr. Noriaki Kano serving as the Program Director, who is one of the most prominent fi gures in the TQM fi eld in the world. Thisprogram is designed for top managers and executivesat private companiesto learn how to develop and implement a quality-oriented management strategy through TQM (Total Quality Management) that increases customer satisfaction and raises profitability.
