1 ADMISSIONS, RECRUITMENT AND MARKETING SERVICE RECRUITMENT AND OUTREACH DEPARTMENT Recruitment Events Administrative Assistant Ref: SC3233 The Post We currently have a position for a Recruitment Events Administrative Assistant, working in the Recruitment and Outreach Department. The postholder will work as part of a team which has responsibility for the organisation and delivery of recruitment events such as the main university Open Days, Applicant days, Mini Open Days and Campus Tours events. You will be one of the key points of contact for the coordination of Student Workers employed by the Recruitment Events team. You will have administrative experience, experience of assisting with promotional events and excellent communication skills. The precise duties will be agreed in discussion with the Manager. Person Specification The person specification for this post is attached as Appendix B. GENERAL Salary Salary will be 18,777 to 20,989 per annum on Grade 4 on the single salary spine. The normal expectation is that starting salary will be at the minimum of the advertised salary scale.

2 Starting Date The post is available from 23 January 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter on a full-time, indefinite basis. A job-share arrangement will be considered. Terms and Conditions of Appointment Full details of terms and conditions of employment for Secretarial & Clerical staff will be made available to the candidate to whom the appointment is offered. Annual Leave Entitlement There is an annual holiday entitlement of 20 days plus statutory (8 days) and customary (6 days) holidays. Superannuation The post is superannuable under the Universities Superannuation Scheme. Disclosure and Barring Service This appointment will be subject to a criminal record check at Enhanced level from the Disclosure and Barring Service. 4 APPENDIX A JOB DESCRIPTION REF: SC3233 Job Title: Recruitment Events Administrative Assistant Grade: Grade 4 Department: Reporting to: Recruitment and Outreach Department Recruitment Events Manager PURPOSE OF ROLE The post holder will work as part of team which has responsibility for all aspects of organisation of recruitment events including the Applicant and main Open Days of the University. Although based in the Recruitment and Outreach Department the role holder will liaise closely with admissions colleagues across the University to ensure involvement and engagement with our prospective students. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To ensure efficient organisation and delivery of the main University Applicant Days, Open Days, Norfolk Higher Education UCAS fair and the annual Teachers and Advisers Conference To coordinate the student guide scheme (including recruiting, contracting, training and managing them throughout their time on the scheme) To coordinate and run campus tour afternoons and mini open days (held throughout the academic year) To coordinate the Accommodation Reps Scheme (ARS) including recruiting, contracting, training and managing students throughout their time on the scheme To assist with the delivery of on campus Enrichment Events where required To offer advice and answer enquiries regarding programmes on offer at Applicant Days and Open Days to parents and students via , phone and in person To provide support to the recruitment events team, often taking the format of communicating with applicants and liaising with administrative and academic staff To communicate with the admissions teams to ensure their involvement in recruitment events (e.g. campus tour afternoons) To supervise student guides who help to deliver the recruitment events

5 Working alongside the relevant offices and the Associate Deans (Admissions), to ensure that the office achieves the vision and strategy for admissions and recruitment across the University.
