Responsible to the Head of Engagement you will lead a creative and inclusive community of young people volunteering, training and creating in Storyhouse. Your work will promote creativity, social innovation and inclusion, through creative training and career development opportunities for young people in our area. 4 Experience could be: Experience leading children s / young people s creative arts / theatre programmes Experience supporting young people s career progression and personal development Experience working with and providing pastoral Grosvenor Park Open Air care Theatre, and Romeo mentoring & Juliet, 2015 for young people / children including those that are vulnerable Experience managing creative teams of staff / volunteers Experience of delivering Arts Award Skills must have : MBNA Chester Music Festival, 2015 Deep understanding of what makes young people tick. Prove and keen adopter of technology as it affects young people today. Ability to design and manage an innovative creative programme for children and young people Understanding of learning, training opportunties, qualifications and apprenticeships available for young people A healthy commercial streak. 5 responsibilities Supporting Under 26s in Storyhouse Volunteering Recruitment and management of all under 26 volunteers in Storyhouse. Individual mentoring of volunteers, arranging their journey and programmes, liaison with managers with whom they work, safeguarding, loyalty and rewards. Access Encouraging access to Storyhouse programmes and performances to under 26s. Working with marketing teams to ensure a high level of access across all programmes Youth Theatre Storyhouse s combined arts Youth Theatre is for 7-11 year olds. For parents who want to give their children a chance to play, create and learn as part of a creative, happy community at Storyhouse. Young Company Storyhouse s Young Company is for year olds. For young people who want to join a creative community, which devises and delivers original creative content across Storyhouse. The work of the Young Company represents Storyhouse s avant-garde, driving creative innovation in the organisation. Young Leaders Storyhouse s Young Leaders Programme is for year-olds who want to gain experience of working in the arts / cultural sector and customer services, and support Storyhouse s work. Young Leaders will be mentored as volunteers and paid apprentices in Storyhouse, given responsibility for key areas of work in the cultural centre and its programme delivery. For these programmes you will: Design and provide leadership for Storyhouse s engagement under 26s Manage and support young volunteers aged working in Storyhouse. Deliver regular workshops and performance opportunities for members of the Youth Theatre, Young Company, across three age groups: 7-11; 12-16; Recruit and manage freelance and volunteer workshop leaders to work with young people in Storyhouse. Design, coordinate and manage mentoring by Storyhouse staff / volunteers for members of the programme, including providing training to Storyhouse staff in mentoring young and vulnerable people. Design and manage progression and personal development plans for young people on the programmes. Manage formal apprenticeships for young people aged across the organisation. Support Youth Theatre, Young Company & Young Leader s Programme members through Arts Award qualifications. Ensure all staff and volunteers working with young people as part of the Young Leader s Programme & Young Company are compliant with the Storyhouse child and young person s safeguarding policies. Support Young Company & Young Leader s Programme members to further their education and training across the organisation and with partner learning organisations. Develop and manage operational budgets for the Young Leader s Programme, Youth Theatre and Young Company, ensuring the programme s efficiency, growth and sustainability. general Support fundraising for the Youth Theatre, Young Company & Young Leader s Programme. As will all managers, act as a mentor to a young person, providing guidance, support and shadowing opportunities in line with their personal growth plan. Comply with all company governance and policies to avoid risk and minimize company liability. Work as a member of the core building/event management team, taking part in managing events and engagement programmes, and the centre, on a rostered basis.

6 This Appointment is a full-time, permanent contract.
