1 Job pack: Resource Mobilization Advisor Country Zimbabwe Employer Voluntary Service Overseas Duration 6 months minimum Zimbabwe Job purpose The overall placement objective is to contribute towards promoting more responsiveness; transparency and accountability in the provision of quality health VSO primary actors that include prisoners, adolescents and young people, vulnerable women and men as well as people living with HIV in Zimbabwe. The project will achieve this by empowering communities to support vulnerable communities and help them realize their full potential. It will therefore facilitate access to quality health, create and strengthen community support systems and advocate for a supportive policy environment

Also support risk identification analysis and management with regard to fundraising, and formation of effective county level, national and regional partnerships to leverage national and regional footprint to diversify funding. Job Description Job Description: Resource Mobilization Advisor, National Volunteer- (1 positions) VSO Zimbabwe Responsible to: VSO project officer No. of direct reports: None Location: Harare with frequent travel to 5 provinces in Zimbabwe Job purpose: Strengthen partner organizations capacities to identify, analyse, form consortia, and diversify resource mobilization for sustainability. Also support risk identification analysis and management with regard to fundraising, and formation of effective county level, national and regional partnerships to leverage national and regional footprint to diversify funding. 4 Due to the nature of our volunteer placements, it is possible that the responsibilities of this role may differ in reality and therefore the post holder will need to be prepared to be flexible and adapt to their environment as necessary. Partnership engagement across the inclusive education thematic area is well coordinated and transparent to capitalize on local and global footprint and multiple points of engagement MOUs are agreed with strategic partners (INGOs, private sector actors, fund managers and contractors) Partner inclusion and active participation on consortia bids increases Grant and fund management & capacity building: Increased capacity of partner staff on all aspects of traditional and nontraditional grant management Objectives will be confirmed in a three way discussion between the volunteer, employer and VSO in the first three months of the placement. Access to medical care and support As the position will be based VSO Zimbabwe, heath facilities will be provided as per the VSO Zimbabwe office policy. This placement is based : - In the VSO Zimbabwe office, Harare - With visits to provinces and districts as and when needed to support training and capacity development as a part of V4D project Extra care just like in any other situation will be necessary in matters of security. Background and contextual information Social Inclusion and Accountability is a core approach of VSO and also as part of Volunteer for development (V4D) project focusing on inclusion and accountability to mainstream gender in all thematic areas of VSO Zimbabwe and create resilience community. Furthermore the programme encourages meaningful participation Leaving No One Behind from the local to the national level and therefore concentrates on creating a strong movement through enhancing knowledge and skill, building capacity, raising awareness and networking with stakeholders to promote social inclusion and accountability and reduce poverty in Zimbabwe. Through this placement, VSO is envisioned to achieve staff, partner and volunteer enhanced knowledge and skill on SIG and SA and reflecting in their new and ongoing programs and policies from grassroots to national level. All VSO staff, Volunteer and

6 partner will be capacitated to facilitate trainings to the local newly elected representatives and other relevant stakeholders in working in various provinces and districts in Zimbabwe. This position is new and based in VSO Zimbabwe office. VSO has conducted partner capacity assessments conducted on all 8 VSO Partners have highlighted the lack or inadequate resource mobilization by the said Partners as such A Resource Mobilization Specialist will be engaged for capacitating the Partners for Accountable and Inclusive Resource Solicitation to fund Programmes that support the Marginalised groups/primary actors that are working with VSO and its Partners.
