Retail stores are present in each of the Nature Parks locations with the Penguin Parade providing a host of retail offers through its stores and green screen photography. With the increase in visitation over the warmer months, we are excited to expand our teams during this period between October 2018 and 30 April As a Retail Sales and Service team member, you will deliver customer service excellence to a diverse range of visitors in fast paced retail environments. To be successful in this position you will need to address the following criteria: Experience in a fast paced retail environment; Exceptional customer service skills; Cash register and money handling skills; Excellent communication skills, including communicating with a diverse range of people; Problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure; Understanding of OHS standards; Holds a current Drivers Licence; and Availability and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays. This position is a Scale 1 and will offer $28.37 per hour ($22.13 Base Rate + $6.24 Seven Day Roster allowance).

Established in 1996 by the State Government of Victoria, the Nature Parks manages over 1,805 hectares of Crown land which includes a variety of coastal reserves, wetlands, and woodlands. Each year the Nature Parks attract over 1.4 million visitors to our five world-class ecotourism attractions including the iconic Penguin Parade, the Antarctic Journey at the Nobbies Centre, Wild Oceans EcoBoat tours, the Koala Conservation Centre and Churchill Island Heritage Farm. JOB SPECIFICATION KEY RESPONSIBILITIES DUTIES Visitor Service Provide exceptional visitor service to all visitors and stakeholders Maintain awareness of the diversity of International, Domestic and special needs of visitors Liaise with visitors and provide information about Phillip Island Nature Parks and other attractions Ability to convey information and assistance in a friendly manner to visitors from a diverse cultural background Sales Preparation, presentation and service of retail outlets Process RMS and ensure accurate cash handling Increase revenue through sales and up-selling Ensure routine cleaning of displays, stock and equipment is carried out

4 Monitor the capacity report Ensure service areas are ready for service and are clean and restocked Merchandising/ Product Knowledge Stocktake and Stock Control Communication & Leadership Policies and Procedures Promote all products, services and promotions Develop and maintain Phillip Island Nature Parks product knowledge Assist with merchandising and re-stocking Assisting in stocktakes and stock counts Reporting of stock damage items and discrepancy of stock items Following safe work practices, housekeeping and cleaning of the work areas Assist team members, management and visitors of the Nature Parks Identify issues and report methods of improving productivity, effectiveness and service Check intranet daily, read and implement new procedures Communicating with managers, team leaders and employees in effective, professional and productive method Be familiar with and participate in staff development activities including annual review process Maintain understanding of current and developed policies and procedures Develop and update policies and procedures Ensure compliance of policies and procedures Health, Safety and Wellbeing Adhere to safe work method statements Comply with and follow OH&S work practices Identify and report workplace hazards Actively participate in safety and wellbeing activities Ensuring the safety of all employees, visitors and contractors In addition to the essential responsibilities and duties listed above, all positions are also responsible for: Promoting and respecting the practices of equal opportunity, diversity and equity in all the interactions at Nature Parks, which includes internal and external (visitors, contractors and volunteers) groups Meeting organisational standards in relation to quantity and quality of work performed on an ongoing basis in a manner that is in compliance with all of Nature Parks policies and procedures Represent and comply with organisational workplace behaviour, code of conduct and uniform attire Attending and participating in learning and development activities, meetings and maintaining up to date knowledge of activities and events occurring within the Nature Parks WORKING AND ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS Availability to work on a 7 day weekly roster, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays and special events. A high-level of organisational skills along with the ability to prioritise tasks Strong focus and attention to detail with demonstrated ability to meet timelines Essential Sound interpersonal skills strongly focused on the provision of quality customer service Proven ability to work as part of a team and independently Ability to effectively work with various cultures Understand the need for Desirable Familiarity in retail and tourism Knowledge of RMS and POS systems Previous experience working in a multifaceted and diverse work environment. Previous experience in green screen photography and/or photography and the use of digital editing programs. Desirable Knowledge of working practices within a sustainable environment.
