1 Ahha Tulsa Job Description Position Title: Manager of Advocacy & Partnerships Reports To: Director of Communications FLSA Status: Salaried/Exempt Ahha Tulsa is a 501c3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to cultivate a more creative community. Founded in 1961, ahha advocates for arts and culture policies and programming in the community and in the education system. Ahha takes a lead role in fostering cooperation among Tulsa arts and humanities organizations as a whole to benefit the entire community; and develops, supports and nurtures innovative programs and exhibits that bring the arts to the public. Ahha operates a state-of-the-art facility to support the mission, the ahha Hardesty Center in the downtown Tulsa Arts District. Position Summary: The ahha Manager of Advocacy & Partnerships takes the lead role in coordinating and growing advocacy efforts for ahha and for the arts community as a whole in Tulsa. Part of this effort includes managing the Arts & Humanities Council Affiliate program: determining appropriate dues and benefits, providing services to affiliates, maintaining strong communications channels, managing affiliate events, serving as the single point of contact at ahha for these groups and maintaining strong relationships with current and future affiliate organizations. The Manager of Advocacy & Partnerships attends meetings and conferences at the local, state and national level to share information about the importance of the arts at all levels of government. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned in keeping with the mission of ahha Tulsa. Develops and manages the Arts & Humanities Council dues structure, recommending changes to leadership as necessary. Develops and manages the Arts & Humanities Council of Tulsa affiliate benefits and constantly works to improve the services provided in order to better elevate the arts sector in Tulsa. Is the ahha expert on Arts & Humanities Council of Tulsa benefits. Manages the Arts & Humanities Council of Tulsa affiliate membership processes, including packet fulfillment, card printing and renewal schedule. Ensures that affiliates receive timely renewal notices and works to maintain a large and influential affiliate list. Page 1 Last Updated: 11/12/18

2 Acts as the single point of contact at ahha for Arts & Humanities Council affiliates, responding to phone calls and s in a timely manner. Develops and manages the Arts & Humanities Council annual event calendar, working with affiliates to create events that are beneficial to the membership. Promotes and coordinates all such events. Attends and contributes to advocacy meetings, conferences and sessions at the local, state and national level to communicate the value of the arts to all levels of government. Maintains strong relationships with elected and appointed leaders. Encourages Arts & Humanities Council of Tulsa affiliates to get involved where appropriate. Regularly reports the results of meetings to Council affiliates to keep the sector informed. Develops and manages the annual advocacy issues list for the Arts & Humanities Council of Tulsa and coordinates the annual Advocacy Summit. Watches for movement on all core advocacy issues and sends advocacy alerts to Council affiliates as appropriate. Coordinates the annual Arts Day at the Oklahoma Capitol for the Tulsa arts sector. Maintains relationships with core sector partners such as the Oklahoma Arts Council, Oklahomans for the Arts and the Tulsa Office of Film, Music, Arts and Culture. Manages the Arts & Humanities Council of Tulsa facebook group and related social media tools. Manages the Arts & Humanities Council portion of the ahha webpage, ensuring information is accurate, useful and up to date. Maintains the Council affiliate profiles on the website. Education and/or Experience Bachelor s degree from college or university; one to two years related experience and/or training in a member services or advocacy role; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Skills Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of ahha employees, managers, clients, customers and the general public. Mathematical Skills Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions and percentages. Ability to apply basic concepts of algebra and geometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and decimals to practical situations. Computer Skills Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint or Prezi, Tessitura or equivalent donor database, point of sale and ticketing system, Internet Browser(s)- Explorer, Chrome, Safari, etc. Must be able to communicate effectively to groups of people using technological tools. Other Skills, Abilities or Qualifications Must be able to travel as needed outside of Tulsa, OK and must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
